Hi All!

Okay, I just booked the AKL for $139 a night. Is that a good rate? It was booked as an annual passholder's rate, parking lot view on April 27 - checking May 3.

How do you like this hotel? It was a cross between this and the Coronado Springs for $109 a night.

I haven't stayed on sight since 1979, which was at the Contemporary.

Are there any perks for staying on sight??? I usually stay in one of those huge villas with a private pool, but I thought I would try something different.

Thanks ALL!!!

Wow that's a great rate. The rack rate for that same room is 199!

If you go to allearsnet.com you can see pictures of the AKL click on accomdoations then down the side you'll see links to the pictures and info.

The last time we went we stayed in two villas (there were 20 of us) and I'm hoping to stay at AKL this time in the fall ..

Have a great time!

Great! Thanks for your feedback!!!

Our annual passes expire May 14th. They were WELL WORTH IT!! This is our 4th Disney vacation since last May. We also get FREE parking at the parks which saved us aproximately $240.00. We usually stay on the cheap...such as Villas ($400 for a week) 3 bedroom, pool etc. We also buy our groceries at Walmart. I wanted to try a Disney hotel before they expire.

Thanks Again!

I'm just curious if anything else was available at those great rates? Thanks!

Oh my Gosh Yes!

They said the only thing left for the Contempoary was the concierage level which was...GET THIS.........$954.00 a night! I certainly will not pay that kind of price, put me in the Ritz! LOL!

Yes, they had the Coronado Springs at $109.00 a night. Polly at $$254 for garden level...a little too steep for me also. She said that there were some other moderate hotels for the same price $109.

HTH!
Thanks!

I think CSR and AKL are good deals at the prices you quoted. Both have a sit down restaurant and nice pool. Different themes but both nice. I'd opt for AKL if I were you!

We also received a rate of 124.00 a night at the AKL. That's before taxes and all are added to it. It is a parking lot view also. But the way I look at it we're never in our room, only to shower and sleep. We are Disney bound June 5th!!!

How did you get such a great rate? We were quoted $139 AP rate for a standard view...before taxes. Last fall, we got the FL Resident's rate of $129.

Oh you don't have to worry about that. Disney will build additional hotels before any of their current ones expire. :teeth:

we are at AKL June 9 - 14, but I just realized you are paying $15 less a night, what rate did you use??

I would guess that's a postcard/email rate. For some reason those rates were lower than AP rates for this time frame. :confused3

the rack rate for AKL standard view during this time is actually 239, ap discount gave 100 off at deluxes. 124 was the pin code rate.

If you are never in your room, may I ask, why aren't you staying at a Moderate, or even a value?

I didn't say I was never in my room. :confused3

CSR is a moderate resort and is priced fairly close to the OP price for AKL. The price is great, I'm betting POR or CBR are not going to be much less.

When we stay at a Disney resort, we go back to the hotel each afternoon for a break whether it's a swim, nap or shower. It's a good 2-3 hours before we venture back to the parks and it can be a really nice experience when we enjoy the theme of the resort.

Vacations are individual, I am as frugal as you can get sometimes but I love the Grand Floridian as a special treat! When I am there, it's worth it to me.

How do we (I) get a pin code for the AKL? Do you know?

Thanks so much for your help.

I never received a code thru the mail. But by reading the post that some were receiving a code when they called Disney. I thought I would give it a try and I had a pincode next to my name. I was given 3 different price levels on the AKL( savannah, pool view or parking lot view). I booked the parking lot view for 124.00 a night. Never stayed at AKL but we are very excited about our upcoming trip!!! :cheer2:

Rattat, we stayed @ AKL Sept 2004 for the 1st time..you will love your stay. There is so much to see and do. Enjoy!!! :flower: :bounce:

Do you recall the pin code rate you were quoted for the Savannah view? I want to put it under my pillow for wishful dreams. . .

Judy ;)

Now don't hold me to this, but I think :scratchin it was around 169.00 somewhere in that area. But this was about 3 weeks ago when I called. I know the pool view was 139.00 a night. But hey give them a call and see if you have a pin code. Two of my friends called this past Sunday, could not get into AKL.
They were able to get the gardenview at the Contemporary for 166.00 a night. They called and also had pin codes next to their name. :wave2:
