Ok, it has been a while since we did this and I'm wondering if anyone is interested in doing page trades again. For those who aren't sure what this is here are the basics. Patty, you organized these last time so if I've missed anything let me know. I'm happy to organize this time.

People interested sign up by sending me a PM with name and address (let's say by July 22nd)

I'll pair everyone up with a buddy - generally it isn't a direct swap so for instance if Patty and Cass and Maggie and I were doing this Patty and Cass wouldn't trade but Patty might get Cass's photos while Patty's went to Maggie, and so on. Addresses are exchanged via PMs. And the total list would be posted in this thread.

You send enough photos to the person doing your pages for a 2 page spread. Sending along a note on type of book (size & style) you use, if there is anything you are really opposed to (for instance I prefer NOT to have brads and eyelets unless they are "cushioned" a bit), how much space you'd like left for journalling perhaps, anything you'd like the other scrapper to know. It is a good idea to have back ups or negs of the photos you send just in case so this isn't where you send off those one of a kind heritage pics!

We set a time line for the pages to be done and returned - usually 4 to 6 weeks but no one is beaten if they miss the deadline.

The really cool thing is you then have some very different styles in your books and you get to see how others are doing things.

For instance, a couple trades ago I sent some photos of DD & her choir at a Christmas choir concert. I NEVER would have thought of tearing out part of the paper in the center of the page and inserting a wide ribbon behind the edges and it is awesome! Or doing a layout on DD's first perm using a geometric cbe/prism design again VERY cool!

So whose interested?

Count me in Deb. I enjoyed the last one and would be up for another.

Sue -

Can you PM me with mailing address, etc please? I don't think I have that in any of my stuff!

Thanks,
Deb

I had so much fun doing this last time and really enjoy what was done with my pictures so YES I would like to do this again. PM on the way with my addie.

Ok, am bumping this up to keep it in view. And as the week wraps next week if someone will keep it bumped that will be great. I'll be out of town the 19th (afternoon) through evening of 22nd so I may not get on the boards after Monday until Saturday the 23rd.,

Deb

Here's the list so far:

FantasticDisFamily
WDWMom
PattyT
PigletsPal
RoRoLoves Eeeeeeeee

Anyone else?

Deb

I'd love to join in, if you dont mind a newbie ;)

Add me to the list too, please. This sounds like fun.

Has everyone sent me their mailing info in a PM? I have some of you printed out at work and I see there are a few additions while I was gone. Terrific! We love oldies and newbies. I'll make the pairings on Monday and send everyone a PM with their mailing info!

Deb

Ok, folks - here is the list:

Participant: Send photos and info to:
FantasticDisFamily Pattyt
PattyT WDWMom
WDWMom PigletsPal
PigletsPal RoRoLovesEeeeeeee
RoRoLovesEeeeeeeee KatDisney
KatDisney Lisa
Lisa FantasticDisFamily

Remember to either send duplicates or photos you have the negs for just in case the post office or other carrier messes up!This isn't the place to start sending off one of a kind heirlook photos.

Also let the person doing your photos know the size and TYPE (brand, style, etc) books you use. If you're really particular consider sending along a couple of pages.

These should be viewed as 2 page spreads. If you're not sure how many photos will fit label any MUST INCLUDES. While the scrapper doesn't journal, they will leave space for you to do so - let them know if you're a long or short journaller and perhaps a little background so they have an idea how this might fit in.

Any other "notes" you'd like them to have such as limited bumpiness or whatever.

If photos and information can be sent bu August 1 then it seems realistic to aim at finished pages being shipped back by September 1. Check your PM lists shortly for the mailing info.

Deb
P.S. - There really was WAY more space between those names when I set the message up!

Since I've not done one of these before how many pictures should I send in?? I do a 12x12 album :confused3

KatDisney,

I have your pages. :) :wave2:

How many pictures do you have on a topic?

I've done layouts with up to 19 pictures (some cropped obviously) on 12 x 12. Why don't you send what you have one one topic, I'll see how I can work it, those pictures I can't put in, I'll mail back to you in their original size. Sound good?

The number of photos thing is always a tough question. Lisa's answer is a good one. Send the photos on an event (or portion of an event) and label the ones that are must includes then let the scrapper work her magic.

As a for instance, the last time we did one of these I sent a dozen plus photos on DD getting her hair permed (her first adult process) thinking there were WAY more than anyone could use. I received back the most incredible layout! There were a couple larger shots near the edge (one before and one after) but the various steps were cropped tight and laid out in this geometric cube design!

And naturally, any unused photos would be sent back along with the finished pages.

Deb

Alrighty :) I am printing them all out. I only have about 6 pictures though. Will that be enough? Unless I go with more than one princess.

6 should be fine - especially if they are 6 pretty full frames without a lot of "empty" space at the edges of the photo.

Deb

My photos are going out tomorrow in the mail :)) I am so excited and can't wait to see the results ;) :earsgirl:

I finally decided on the pictures that I am going to send you. I have 8 pictures that are from when I took my duaghter to some ponds last year that are in my parent's neighborhood. They are from the fall and red is a prominent color in the pictures. By the way, my albums are 12X12. Please let me know if you have any other questions. I will probably send the pictures on Saturday since that is the only time I really have to go to the post office.
