Hello!

We are going on the Disney Dream Feb 2022! Super excited! We are already looking at which excursions we all may want to do, we did the same cruise in 2022 so we did some things but not all.

The paddleboats I found have a 4 seater option. Does anyone know if the back row actually gets to paddle or does the back row just sit back and enjoy the ride?

No. Paddleboats aren't fun at all.

(I'm sure someone will disagree, but I've never actually met anyone who actually enjoys them.)
I remember doing paddleboats (at least I think I remember) way back when I was a kid, at the marina at the Contemporary Resort on Bay Lake. I thought they were fun! But that was probably because I was in the back and didn't have to paddle!

Hahaha! To be 100% honest I never really had a desire to do it until my kids wanted to. We were debating the 4 person paddleboat or get two big tricycle water things. I forget what they're called.

Those are aquacycles.
The heavier the boat (paddle or cycle) the more effort to get it to move in the water. If they had a kayak that would be my preferred method of transit. As long as you keep in mind that either the boats or cycles is a leisure activity and you aren't racing, you can have an enjoyable time. Take water and wear sunscreen. Sunglass for the glare from the water is nice too.

I completely agree with that. We kayak as a family all the time so my kids are use to being on the water. Just wanting to do something a little different :P

Ha! We think the aquacycles are worse than paddleboats:) To each their own though, obviously they get used enough that they haven't gotten rid of them!

The aquacycles were a butt kicker to us too.... a lot of effort for not a lot of reward lol.

My son and I enjoyed the paddle boat for 2. He was a pre-teen, so he could actually exert some effort. I would do it again. Burned off some tasty tropical drinks with a good view of the boat.

Haha my thoughts as well. We are normally a super active sporty family the activity level I'm not worried about but I just want to give the kids a cool experience
