Packing

Ok I just got the suit cases out so that we can start packing because i am sure we will change our minds about what to take and what not to take. We will be down in orlando from 11/19-11/25 i have a 4 year old boy and two thirteen year old boys me and my husband what should we pack shorts or pants. For myself i will probably just wear capri's. Please let me know long sleeves or short sleeves pants or shorts.

I see you didn't get any responses back on the Pre-trip board. I am going to move you over to Theme Park Strategies, maybe you will get a few more responses.

Personally, I think Capri's are great anytime. I have them on today and it is 65 degrees, which is a heat wave for Wisconsin at the end of October.

Yes to all the above -

Pack a couple pairs of shorts, some longer pants for the guys....

When we go in December we're taking the longer pants but I'm throwing in a couple pairs of shorts "just in case" we get a heatwave....

I'm bringing capris,gauchos,and a pair of jeans. My daughter is bringing shorts,
capris,and jeans. We're bringing clothes we can layer in case it gets cold.

We'll be there in Dec so I am packing shorts, capris, jeans, leggings and skorts. a little of everything in basic colors, denim, tan and black. I plan to wash but am bringing different shirts for each day. someone suggested the zip off pants for the boys, that way they could turn into shorts if it got warm.

We just got back Friday -- here is an example of Florida's weather.

Sunday, 10/22 - 90+ and very, very humid.

Monday, 10/23 - 49 when we woke up in the morning.

I wore my fleece sweatshirt more than half of the week. I never used sunscreen at all during the week. I heard the week before it was in the 90's every day. You need to be prepared for it all.

My recommendation is to watch the 15 day forecast for Orlando on accuweather.com, and plan your packing accordingly.

I just finished my packing. We will be leaving Friday for 10 days. I still have to finish both kids and dh. I packed shorts, jeans, t-shirts, sleeveless tops, long sleeved t-shirts and a sweatshirt, gym shoes, sandals and 2 pair of Crocs. Since we will be leaving from Ohio, we will have jackets and warm clothing on as well. I'm glad we're driving, because that suitcase would never have made the weight limit for flying.

We just got back and it was both hotter than I expected and cooler than I expected. The days were warm, with highs in the low 80's. Even with a nice breeze, the Florida sun is HOT. It was in the 50's at night, and we absolutely froze at Illuminations Sat. night. We ended up buying sweatshirts at Mouse Gear in order to make it through the night.

Expect cool mornings that warm up quickly. Warm days that cool off quickly when the sun goes down. I'd suggest layers - we had windbreakers and sweatshirts back in the hotel. We just forgot to bring them because it was so warm when we left the hotel that afternoon. You'll be fine in capris, shorts or pants - whatever you're most comfortable in.
