I'm finishing up packing for our trip today, b/c we leave this afternoon (I know the ticker says 3 days--we have to go to a wedding first) Anyway, what is the one thing that you are most likely to forget when packing? We won't have access to a rental car at WDW, so I'm worried I'll forget something major that I can't get at the gift shops! As an aside, I'm packing for me, DH and DD (16 months). Thanks!

I once forgot to pack socks for all four of us.

Then once I forgot to pack underwear.

Now my husband makes me print out a list that I stick in the closet to check off. I'm only in my 30's and my mind's going to the dogs. Maybe I've got too much Disney on my mind and not enough room is left for mundane stuff.

I know what you mean!
I have forgotten... DH's belt, phone chargers, camera batteries
not all on the same trip though.

try looking thru your suitcase as if you were going to use the stuff in it, start with getting up and getting dressed and see if you have what you would need.

oh and it is not a sin to overpack!

Well, I always have a list when packing, but I always seem to forget something anyways....LOL

we forgot at one time or another:

pj's
baby wipes
enough diapers
swim trunks for our DS
swim vest for our DS
stroller
sunscreen
salad dressing (for our DVC) stays

The only thing that we could not readily find either at the parks or the resort general stores was swim trunks for my 3 y.o. DS. We had to go to DD to find some small enough. Actually, the salad dressing also proved to be a challenge, but the hostess at Spoodles gave me 6 packets of vinegrette after hearing our plight. :wizard:

OMGosh I totally would have forgotten the swim vests!!! THANK YOU!!! :goodvibes

Last year I we forgot my DD's Trading Pin's. We were half way down to Orlando before we realized it. Buying them at the park is a lot more expensive than buying them on e-bay.

My hairbrush and hairspray. Good thing we were driving and had a Walmart near by for a hairbrush used my sisters hairspray. Makeup another year but I didn't need it (for we went in July and it would have ran right back off my face anyway.)

I have forgotten:

hair bands (I hav long hair and it gets really hot!!)
DH's swimsuit...try finding a medium in the caribbean...NOT!!!!
Bra (LOL...we left on our honeymoon and I realized I only had one BLACK bra and many white/light colored tops!!!!)...hee hee hee!!!!!
Camera
Film (on separate trip)
sunglasses

If you are staying in a WDW resort, they should have free swimvests available. We used them for my nieces in '00. They had down to an extra small and that was the size my DD used when she was under 2.

This year, in an effort to not forget anything, I've downloaded several packing lists, then gone through and consolidated them, eliminating anything that's not relevant for my situation. Hopefully it will work, and whatever one list forgot, the other ones will mention!

Well, I didn't forget them, but didn't take our Disney rain ponchos on our spring break to DC and Williamsburg last week. Boy could we have used them and my husband kept saying ..... BUT I LEFT THEM WITH THE TRAVEL STUFF! I had been called out of town on business and was home roughly 18 hours between trips. He's lucky anybody had anything!

And to those of you who have forgotten items for DH, etc, IMHO, once they hit age 16 or so, they can pack their own bag and live with the consequences (though I do confess that I usually add a few pairs of socks to DH's bag ... he packs one pair for each day, then sometimes changes in the middle of the day). I always insist that everyone have an extra pair of shoes and the bigger kids resist this. They were all wishing for that extra pair after a day or two of monsoon weather.

I have forgotten the little boy's toothbrushes, various food items that I meant to bring along that were much more expensive to buy on vacation, and countless other little things that sure would have been nice to have.

On a business trip once, I forgot to pack my dress shoes for work. That was interesting!

First year wore his Work Boots to Fla, and forgot to Bring Sneaks so for a full week he wore Construction Boots.. (and was too Cheap to Buy new sneakers LOL)
Then next year he forgot to pack Underpants and a Bathing Suit..

After that, I pack for him..

Twice now we've forgotten our sons prescription medication! Once DH packed it and one of the bottles was almost empty as opposed to the one that had just been refilled. Luckily got his doctor to call in a refill to Turner Drugs, but it wasn't inexpensive to pay for it out of pocket...

Then this past 12/30 we got three hours from home before we realized we hadn't packed it. FedEx wasn't working the next day and we only had one day's emergency stash in the glove box. Not good. We had to turn around, drive back home, and then turn around and drive again. We had expected to get to our hotel in NC in time to see Leno, got there ate around 3:00am.

Had to leave by 8:00am the next day to get to our house in time for a delivery :(

Pack any prescription meds!!!

Just got back from a 3 night trip on Tuesday. I forgot the extra battery that I bought for my digital camera - missed some parade pics at AK.

I also ran out of the house to pick-up breakfast for everyone in my black Timberland shoes (that I work to work with) and when I got back, we were all in a rush to load up the car. Thus, I forgot my sneakers and had to wear these black shoes with white socks with shorts!

Thanks for letting me know! I may pack some JIC since we'll be there during such a busy week but it's good to know they're available if necessary :flower:

Forgot my make up last trip. SCARY!! :earseek: Had to buy it at K-mart, by the airport. Usually wear Clinique, so had no idea what to buy. I felt I looked terrible the entire trip. Not that the make up was bad. It is just hard to get colors right, when you are frustrated, and in a hurry.

Didn't forget this- We did not know we would need one. A tiny screwdriver. I had purchased light spinners on clearance at the Disney Store, got to disney, and the batteries were dead, from sitting in my closet for 9 months. Anyway had the batteries to replace, but no way to get the darn back of the things. No screwdriver at gift shop, or at front desk that was small enough. So Much for saving $$ buying ahead.
