Packing up, going home

Not that any CP'er wants to think about the end of their stay, but for those who have been through this before, can you shed some light on how the final few days of a CP go? My DD's CP will be up in January, and we're trying to schedule her pickup and our family time that week. Will she be scheduled for work up to her last day? Do they have a day after their CP ends to pack up their apartment? When during that last week is the 'graduation', and is there some sort of formal (I thought I read that somewhere)?

Any info would be great - thanks in advance!

Hey KC!

Graduation will be held a couple weeks prior, it's informal and Guests are not welcome. It's really just a picnic.

Each area looks at scheduling a little different. If her move out day is on Friday, some will schedule her on Thursday, but most will not (making Wednesday the last day). I was in an area that only scheduled to Wednesday, but I picked up a Thursday anyway. My roommate was scheduled closing on Thursday (2am), so she had to do all of her packing a couple days before.

She will then need to be out of her apartment by 11am on Friday (I believe that's still the case).

The dates change w/ every program. I do know that formal and graduation will be much earlier in the Fall than in the Spring since they have to get both events in before Christmas. Looking back on my facebook, Fall's formal in 2009 was the 9th or 10th and the graduation was December 17th. Spring 2010's graduation was April 29th and the formal was May 5th or something like that...
I know they offer two dates for graduations so kids have more of a chance to go, and they are held in the afternoon so kids can go before work if they have to.
Regarding last days of work, scheduling people might mess up, but they are supposed to have off a day before the departure day to pack. I do think it's still 11AM that you are supposed to be out of the apartment.

Can she still get into the parks on her departure day? I'm thinking a final dinner at CP, a final Wishes, a final trip through the HM . . . and before she leaves, a final Photopass picture of her with the castle in the background?

My daughter worked until 8 PM the night before her move out day. We picked her up from the park (rather than make her take the bus) and went right to her apartment with her and packed packed packed. She had some done but not alot.

They have to be out I think by 11 AM on move out day so it makes for a hectic morning.

Anything that can be done in advance is a good idea.

If she goes seasonal, then yes she can get in. Otherwise, she has to turn in her ID on her last working day.

My checkout day was January 3rd. I worked until pretty late on the 1st and my parents came into town that night. They stayed at the All-Star Music Resort, then they came to my apartment at like 7 the next morning and we packed everything up and went back to the hotel and stayed there/went to the parks until the morning of the 4th. My discount worked on all of those days and I was still able to get into the park and finish using my holiday discount booklet on my last day. I talked with my leaders ahead of time and they said that as long as I gave them my ID before I left it was fine. So we went to MK and gave them my ID like not too long before the park closed.

We took a picture in front of the Castle all lit up as Mickey was saying "see ya real soon!" and I was trying to look happy because I was crying since I had the sudden realization that I wouldn't be "seeing it real soon." But yeah, I could get in on my last day and I'm not seasonal... and if I am...then that's news to me...
