Packing tips for first-timers in Cali

Sooo...turns out there is a chance of showers/thunderstorms today and tomorrow in Anaheim.

Welcome to the abnormal summer weather of 2022, I guess.

What irony it would be to have a pool afternoon interrupted by a thunderstorm at Disneyland in JULY. Of course, we check into the Grand tomorrow. At least I guess we have a place to seek shelter if it actually does start storming.

As others have said, a sweatshirt/light jacket might be needed, but rain gear is unlikely. It occasionally rains in September, but usually not.
One thing I love about DLR is how compact everything is. We usually stay within a 5-10 minute walk of the parks, and we leave our sweatshirts in the hotel room and send a runner to go get them if needed. I once took a lightsaber, a droid, a jedi cloak, and 3 sweatshirts back to the room while the others got in line for MFSR (that ride makes me motion sick), and I was back before they got off the ride. So we never worry about bringing tons of stuff with us into the parks "just in case" - we leave that in the room and head back if it's really needed. Obviously that won't work for everyone, but we've been doing that since DS was a year old, and it's one of my favorite things about DLR.
