My DH, DS (1yo) & I are driving down to WDW in late January. I was hoping to get some tips on packing. We'll have car seat, stroller (although I'm hoping to get a less bulky one which reclines - I have the Evenflo Travel System which is too bulky and takes up 1/2 the truck and an umbrella stroller which doesn't recline so it's no good for napping - any stroller suggestions?), and at least two suitcases filled with formula, toys, diapers, all season clothes, etc. We're also thinking of buying that 9" tv/vcr combo for the trip down - does anyone know if that'll fit in my '97 4-dr. honda accord and if it takes up a lot of room? Sorry lots of questions, but I can't imagine fitting everything in the car.

Thanks so much!

Our DD is 13 months and hated our normal bulky stroller. On Saturday we purchased a Perego Aria. She can not get enough of it. I took her to the mall yesterday and she road in it for 3 hours with no fussing. I bought it at Burlington Coat Factory for 149.00. It is light weight. Bigger then a umbrella stroller but only 10 lbs. It folds up flat, easy and has a carrying handle. Easy to get on and off trams. We did like the Combi Travel Savvy too. They are only 7.7lbs and are 69.00 at BCF. Both of them recline and are easy for traveling. Good luck.

Do you have a roof rack? If not, go to Sears and get one. MIL drove home from FL winter home with her daughter, SIL and nephew. They all fit but they did buy the roof rack which helped tremendously. This Oct my husband is driving her down to FL from her summer home on Cape Cod. My 9yr son and I are flying down. She offered to take our 3 big suitcases but has recently bought a new (smaller) car and doesnt want to put the roof rack on yet (cloth roof). Sooooo I'm imagining my son and I checking in our big suitcases at the airport.

I adopted that one a LONG time ago, and it has served me well. Just because you CAN take the kitchen sink, that doesn't mean you need to. Limit yourself to the same amount of baggage you would take when flying, except for extra entertainment for the little one.

Definitely get a smaller stroller, you'll want it on Disney busses and trams, and besides, I don't know anyone who did not get sick of those travel system strollers when their children got bigger. I recommend a super-umbrella such as a Maclaren, Chicco, or Peg Pliko, or a Combi, but if you don't wish to spend that much, something like a Kolcraft umbrella will do fine for a younger child. Do NOT settle for a stroller that does not recline, whatever you do!
