Packing/Shipping food for breakfast/snack?

Hi all. We will be making a trip down in January!! To save a little money, and our waistbands, I would like to bring along some snacks to eat for breakfast and for snacks in the parks. How do you do this? I have heard that people ship boxes down to their hotel before, how long before do you ship them and what exactly do you put on the mailing address?
Also, ifyou have room in your checked baggage, can you just put a box in there?

Last year we took an extra small suitcase - filled with food. Then on the way home, we loaded it with souveniers.

we're mailing a box via ups the week before...call your resort and get the correct address. you need to put your name and what date your arriving. we're sending ahead bowls, utensils, oatmeal, small packs of cereal and cereal bars,juice boxes ( you can get milk at your esort) and we're also sending snacks like cookies, raisins. will definently save your $ thats for sure. good luck!

We just did this! We check in tomorrow and I shipped a box down to SSR a few days ago. Since our check in day is a Sunday, I had to ship it on Tues. to be able to ship it UPS ground and have it get there on Friday. I love that you can track it and I was able to see that it arrived yesterday!! I printed that info out because it says it was delivered and the name of the person who signed for it. I'm bringing that info with us just in case, you never know. I had put drink boxes, breakfast items, snacks, water shoes, raincover for the stroller, and all of our toiletries in it.(we will only have carryons, one for each of us) On the box I put the resort name, address, and "hold for" my name(because my name is the one the ressie is under)and the date we check in and ressie #.

I wouldn't put a box in a checked bag. They might search it and then not put it all neatly back like you had it. And then it's just one more bag to worry about. I find shipping it down a few days before to be so easy and inexpensive.

I have done the same, mailing address of resort and my arrival date and name.
