packing OTC meds

We're flying to Orlando next week Sunday and I started getting some things together. For OTC meds, is it okay to combine different pills (that do not look alike) in one bottle? For example, can I combine Advil, Benadryl, and Sudafed all in one bottle (they all look different). Or do they need to be in their own bottle/package?

When I cross the border into Canada, I always make sure any OTC meds I bring with me are separated since one time, I was stopped at the border and they made an issue of me mixing 2 OTC meds in one bottle (since they were not both identifiable). I never thought it would be an issue.

I know that all liquid/gel caps need to be in checked luggage.

They don't do checks of medicine. You shouldn't have any issues.

Also, liquid medicines/gel caps do not need to be checked, they can be carried on (Note: This also includes contact solution - this does not have to be in your 3-1-1 bag and can be in larger quantities, you just have declare it).

Declare larger liquids. Medications, baby formula and food, and breast milk are allowed in reasonable quantities exceeding three ounces and are not required to be in the zip-top bag. Declare these items for inspection at the checkpoint. Officers may need to open these items to conduct additional screening.

Thanks, I didn't even think to look for info. on the gel caps since I assumed it would need to be packed. I didn't know about the contact lens solution though!

Not entirely true. Liquid medications and contact lens solution needs to be declared and if its over the 3.4oz limit it may be inspected to confirm it is in fact cough syrup.
