First, considering renting a 24-70 2.8 L series Canon lens for this trip. It would be mounted to my new Canon6D. Thoughts ??

I would then also be bringing along a Sigma 35mm 1.4, Canon 28-135mm 3.5/5.6 would keep on my 60D as backup. Canon 70-300mm and a Tamron 200-500mm.

50 mm worth the purchase for the 6D for dark rides ??

Flash, spare batteries, SD cards, filters, step up adapters.

I use the Tamron 24-70 f/2.8 in the parks a lot. I didn't hold out for the Canon version because I'm one who needs image stabilization and the Tamron has VC. It's an awesome lens. Combining that wide aperture with the high ISO of the 6D is an amazing combo.

It is a very heavy bulky combo, but most with a full frame expect that going in.

The 50 is so cheap and light there really aren't any reasons not to take it. In fact, I'd consider leaving the Sigma home and just going with the 50. The 35 is a nicer lens of course, but it's also a lot larger and heavier.

Another vote for the Tamron 24-70/2.8..... But putting that aside, IMHO, you are overdoing it.
Do you really need a backup? Yes, there is always the slim chance something could go wrong. But is carrying an extra brick around as insurance really worth it?
It's also overkill IMO to go with the 35 prime and 50. Pick one, and that's what you use for dark rides.

I'd go with the 6D + 35/1.4 + 24-70. Plus EITHER the 70-300 or the 200-500. At Disney World, there isn't huge use for long telephoto. If you feel compelled to shoot the stage shows, or the animal kingdom safari. That's about it. So I'd pick 1 of those 2 lenses.
If I was going to add to my bag, I'd go with ultrawide. Depends on how you like to shoot, but shooting Disney at 15-24mm is far more interesting than shooting Disney at 200-500mm, in my opinion.

I think I'm going ultrawide for my next lens purchase! I need some length too, but just care more about the U/W.

Though I shoot Nikon, if you want impressive super wide results on a budget and compact size... Look at the Samyung/Rokinon 14mm/2.8. It's manual focus, but that's not hard on an ultrawide lens. (set it at about 3 feet and F8, and you're good to go for almost any landscape).

I've heard really good things about that lens. And your shots really make a convincing case. I just can't get past that manual focus thing yet.

Let's put it this way.... On full frame, I plugged the numbers into a depth of field calculator. If you set focus at F8 and 3 feet, then your depth of field is 18 inches to infinity.
It's not like focusing a regular focal length lens. In comparison, if you have a 35mm lens, and focus at F8 and 3 feet, then your depth of field is only about a foot (from 2 1/2 feet to 3 1/2 feet). And at least on Nikon, I still get focus dot confirmation.

You have me thinking about it now. Hmmmmm....... I might be able to handle that.

I do change what I am carrying depending on the park, the 200-500 goes with me to AK, and taking them all is not an issue since we have a travel trailer and stay in Fort Wilderness. So all my camera stuff does have a home that is out of the way in the trailer. Do like the ultrawide pics and now something else to think about.

my thoughts are that's a lot of camera gear for traveling!
but I can understand you're not carrying it all around each day. The 50mm 1.8 STM is good, get it refurbished for under $100
But I would only get a wide angle like the Samyang 14mm if you feel 24mm on a full frame is not wide enough for your everyday shots because it's real easy to just combine two shots in a "pano" with the auto merge features in Photoshop, lightroom, etc.

I used to take my zoom lens but the last couple of trips all have taken is my 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 for my Canon Rebel. I ordered an adaptor for my FishEye lens that I used on my old Minolta film camera, should be delivered today. So as long as the adapter fits the old lens and Canon I will take that with me on the next trip.
