DD, 7, and I will be trying a water park for the first time this trip. Just wondering what I need to pack.

I understand I can rent towels there, and will likely do that.
I will also rent a locker. $5, right? And can I open and close as much as I like?

Obviously we need swim suits and sunscreen.
I'm going to pack our water shoes. Not sure if DD will wear hers, but I will mine.

Should we bring her swim goggles? I also like to wear sun glasses. Will they let you wear them if they have a cord on them?

I bought a disposable camera so I don't have to worry about my good one.

Do people usually just rinse off and wear your suit back to the hotel on the bus? Or do you take clothes and shampoo to shower and dress afterward?

Anything else I'm forgetting? TIA!

Yes, rent the locker and towel. You pay more and then when you return the key they give you a refund of $5, I think.

You can access it as much as you want.

We didn't bring my sons goggles and he was fine. You could bring them and just leave them with the towels if she doesn't need them.

We didn't do water shoes and we were fine, although parts of the pavement can get very hot so they aren't a bad idea.

Sunglasses, we wore and I am pretty sure they ask you to take them off and hold them on the slides.....It may have been different with each CM though. Even if you put them on the string you can still hold onto them. Summit Plummit may not allow them so you may want to ask before trudging up there.

As for leaving.....we have done all of it.....gotten on the bus wet (which is a bad idea and you will freeze), dried off and gotten on as is, and used the showers to actual shower and change.

Obviously, if you are going to shower and change you would want to bring some plastic bags and some travel shampoo, etc.
The showers are fine but they only have like one hook so I brought bags for our wet clothes and a handle bag to hang my dry stuff up.

Have fun.....BB is one of our favorite parks!

We bring our own, old beach towels; not because we're cheap, but because (1) it's easier to find your spot when your towels are anything but white and (2) if you rent towels and someone else accidentally (or otherwise?) picks yours up, you can't have them replaced -- you have to pay again. Our old beach towels are so thin that they don't take up much space; I'm just careful NOT to bring ones with Disney images on them so they aren't a temptation to anyone....

I bought (and highly recommend) a small waterproof case on a lanyard in which to put your money/park ticket/key to the world. We had charges privileges and DxDDP on our key cards, so I kept them all in the one case that I wore -- worked great.

Goggles are OK on some attractions and not on others; my son really liked having his with him and it wasn't a problem for him to just hold them on the slides where they were not allowed.

We just hung out until we were fairly dry, and put simple clothes on over our suits. We all wore swim shirts and I highly recommend them; the slides can be hard on your back and it helps reduce sun exposure (a light weight t-shirt can do the trick, but swim shirts dry faster so they are more comfortable overall). We were fine with bare feet (in August, no less), which surprised and delighted me.

Have a blast!!

When we were there at the beginning of October, the food stands at BB (at least the ones we went to) weren't accepting Dining Plan, so you'll need to either have your room key with charging privileges, a credit card/debit card, or cash.

We took our water shoes to both BB and TL earlier this month but didn't wear them other than in the bathrooms/changing rooms. Even though it was hot, the ground wasn't terribly hot and it really didn't bother us like it had in July. I wear my sunglasses everywhere and for some rides I was able to leave them on (family raft ride), but for others I took them off and held them in my hand. It wasn't a problem.

I recommend taking your own towels if you can -- much easier to find your own towels than a plain white towel in a sea of plain white towels.

You can take in a cooler with water, juice, sodas, etc. (no glass bottles and no alcohol, I think) and snacks. We take our own snacks and drinks.

Thanks! Yes, packed the swim shirts. I'm fair skinned and they are a life saver.

Not sure we'll have any room to pack towels, but I understand how hard it can be to find your towels when everyone's are the same color. :)

Lockers are $5 or $7, depending on size, plus a $5 refundable key deposit. The key is on a wrist-strap and you can go in and out of the locker all day for the one cost.

Both goggles and sunglasses are allowed. I have seen days whejn we have had over 30 pairs of sunglasses turned in to Guest Services for Lost and Found.

You might want to bring some coverup to wear on the bus and through the Resort lobby. Something such as an oversize T-shirt or a wrap.

LOL about the cover up. I will have some street clothes. I don't have the kind of body that can walk through a hotel lobby in a swim suit. :)

We were there at the beginning of Oct and this is what we took with us (keep in mind we are all tan from hanging at the pool over the summer)

Wore street clothes *DH and I*

Swimsuit with cover up*DD*

All 3 of us wore cheapO flip flops in case they were snatched up

Brought our own towels...We love HUGE beach towels and they would be easily found

DH brought cheap BOBO sunglasses in case they got lost

1 room key for the DP *we ate at Lottawatta Lodge* and it was accepted with the DP

Cash for the locker *I believe it was 10.00 and we got 5.00 back BUT it was VERY small*

A bag for out clothes/wet swim suits

When we got ready to leave we were so exhausted we just kept our swimsuits on and wrapped towels around us got on the bus and left.
We didn't even go back to the chairs where our towels were but they were there when we left and we were there from opening to closing :) We couldn't stay out of the water.

Enjoy! Have a great time!
And just so you know the double tubes are the only ones that can be ridden down the OPEN slide...!! *at runnoff rapids* I didn't know until I got all the way to the top that the only single rider tube was for the enclosed dark tube.So I told him to forget it ... and DH and I traded off and DD and I went down the double tube and he went down the single dark one.I HATE DARK water tubes.I like to see where I am going.Thank goodness we were going together because I would have walked all the way back down.I wasn't told at the bottom that it was double riders only on the open tubes.

BUT it is our pick over Typhoon Lagoon!! :)
