I know we are months away from this but I do remember this past year...my brother made a dreaded mistake when he packed. He checked the weather and packed what he thought was decent attire for the Goofy race but upon arriving realized the weather was actually a LOT hotter than what he had thought. So he had to take a special trip to the expo (he had already picked up his bib another day) and it happened to be busy busy busy! He had to stand in a Q outside the expo building and that line wrapped around the building. He said he waited about 20min before he even got inside...then to find shorts .... in his size....what was left? He got lucky but it took him a long time...time he would have preferred to spend at the hotel.

So:

No matter what the weatherman says...

3 x tanks
1 x skort
1 x shorts
at least 4 x running socks
2 x sneakers (in case it rains one day and sneakers are soaked)
3 x tutu's (all of which will be tossed after the race...they take up lots of space) This will in turn leave space for things I buy at the expo.

Toss away clothes:

4 sweatshirts that I will take off after the race starts
4 sweat bottoms...same thing...

2 x sunglasses
fuel belt.
chargers for phone and mp3

tiny camera

I think that's it. What did I forget? Something...

Here's one the Coach Charles did last year....thorough as usual.

Race List(s)
For those who have never traveled to a race or those who are kind of like me and can never locate last years packing list (OK I am really not that way as I keep all my travel gear in a bag) This is a stab at a packing list and of things that you may want to consider. Note that not everything will be needed by all.

running shoes, extra shoe laces (just in case)*
Running clothing: socks, shorts, underwear, shirt *
(throw down clothing An old long sleeved race shirt and a set of old sweats top and bottoms is good. Note cut the long seam of the bottoms about 6-10 inched so that they can pull pulled off with shoes on. Also, not that all discarded clothing is picked up, laundered and given to the local homeless charities.
hat / visor / dew rag
gloves (throw-away)
wristband or sweat rag
(wristwatch or Garmin + Charger
(old tube socks that you can wear as throw-away sleeves
garbage bag to wear at starting line

Actually, the rest of his post has great suggestions for what to do before and after a Disney race, but apparently it's too long to post it all. Here's a link

Just a word on the running shoe issue. If you are running Goofy or Dopey you really should be in a couple pairs of shoes regardless of the weather.

I have about 5 pairs of 'Stuffits' http://stuffitts.com that I keep in my sports shoes. Simply, these pull the water out of the shoe. Before I found these I used newspaper; I pull the inserts out and then stuff with paper.

The other reason for rotating through multiple pair of shoes is that the foam in the shoe takes a good day to recover. In the Goofy that means that the marathon is run when the shoes are not quite as cushiony as they could be.

I think 2 pair work for the Dopey. The older pair would be used for the 5k and half while the newer pair for the 10k and mary.
