I'm trying to get my packing down to what is truly managable. Do I need to take my own paper stacks with me, or just buy from one of the vendors there? I've got about 20 pages already preplanned, so I don't know how many more I'll get to. I'm really trying to do this without taking the proverbial "kitchen sink"---KWIM? This will be for a full weekend, so I have no idea what I'll actually be able to get to or work on. I'm also thinking about taking some composition books I'm altering in ziplocks with the embellishments so that I could just grab a bag and finsh one up during the crop parties.

So, where do I put the cut-off on taking things? Also, will I be the only one there using a hammer and setter for eyelets? I don't have one of those "quiet" setters yet, so I don't want to be the only one there causing a lot of noise.

One more question---do ya'll take things with you with the intention of trading? I have some things I would like to trade, but I don't know if that's allowed or if people would be interested or not.

are you just going to crops or are you also taking classes? I would definently make pre planned pages to take with you. If you are going with a bunch of pals, chances are good that you won't get too much done at the crops. :) What kind of bag do you have to put stuff in? this is from a cku messageboard:

Checklist: Bring these essential scrapbook supplies.
- Personal 12" paper trimmer
- Straightedge scissors
- Favorite wet and dry adhesives
- Black pen
- 12" by 12" paper holder
- 1/8" hole punch, if you have one
- A few of your favorite photos
- Eyelet setting tools and other favorite tools
- Paper and pen to take notes

I think that was for classes, but they also said to pack very little as there isn't much room at the crops. I have another list someplace, I'll have to look for it. have fun! maggie

Thanks, Maggie!

Well, I'm getting so excited about going! I think that's where all the packing issue is coming from.

I have a T1200 Series fishing tackle bag by Okeechobee Fats that I found at Wal Mart. It's got all kind of compartments and a really nice padded shoulder strap---no wheels though. I know when it gets full it's going to be heavy. I also found a craft storage thingie at Dollar Tree that is flat with a small carrying strap. It's got about 8 plastic pockets to hold things, and it will easily slip inside the tackle bag. I should have bought about 3 or more of these. It looks like something I've seen elsewhere for storing scissors, adhesives, etc. I think that will hold whatever I need to get to while I'm sitting at the crops, and then if I need something else, I guess I can have those things in the car.

I'm taking classes and going to all the crops. There's 5 crop parties, so I hope I can get some of my stuff done. I know I'll be visiting and roaming around to see what everyone else is doing too! LOL!!! What kind of snacks do you take with you? Also, what is considered a "wet" adhesive? I have tape rollers and glue sticks and glue dots.

Maxine,
One of the crops I went to specifically said no hammers, so I would try to contact someone to see what their policy is. DH found a silent setter for me cause I was driving everyone at home crazy.

Okay, I guess I'll have to look for one of those silent setters at the convention then. They're not sold at WM, and that's all I've got around here.

Should I pack my Sizzix and take some of my dies? I really could use some of them for the LO's I have planned. Maybe I should just cut out what I need before I go.

Personally I would do as much before hand as possible.
When I went to the CM crop here in Hartford some of the CM consultants brought tools to use and some other people brought their own stuff including sizzix. I guess if you don't mind hauling it around it would be useful to have especially if you are not 100% sure what you want to use. I sometimes change my mind at the last minute.
Sorry you can't find a silent setter. I know our ACMoore just got them in stock. DH found mine in a Super Jo Anns about 45 minutes from here. When are you going to your crop? I could price one for you and if you want you can send me the money and I could mail it to you.

Oh, BTW a wet adhesive is like a liquid glue. I don't use mine often but I do if I'm working with metal or plastic embellishments.

Thanks for the offer to find the silent setter, but I'm going in just a few days for the convention. I know there's a Michaels and Joann's where I'm going, so hopefully I can find one there.

I think I'm going to work tonight to get my things in order so I can just sit down and put my pages together when I get there. I'm hoping to get at least 20 pages or more done.

I would check Joann's first, I haven't seen them at Michael's yet however ours is kind of small.
Have fun at the crop!!
