We will be taking our DS1 to WDW for the first time this October. I have never been there with a little one before and I'm afraid I'm going to forget something! We are taking his own stroller. Diapers and wipes of course! Probably some food depending on what he is eating at the time. Just wondering if anyone has any tips for must bring items for babies this age?

I am also renting a crib, high chair and monitor from abbf. I was planning on shipping some stuff down to the resort - we are staying at Poly. We are staying 5 nights. How many outfits do you think I need? Does it get cold at night? Should I bring pants and shorts? Jackets?

Any tips or advice are greatly appreciated!!!

My youngest dd is 13 mo. and I just packed all of her things for our upcoming trip.

I packed 2 outfits per day with one light weight hoodie just in case...but I doubt we'll need it.

3 swimsuits.

3 pair of PJs.

Several sun hats.

I bought alot of gerber graduates snacks b/c those make me feel more at ease since they dissolve quickly. I also got oatmeal for her b/c I know she'll want her breakfast right away....unlike my older girls who can wait until we get to the resturaunt. And then some stage 3 jars of various baby food in case she can't or won't eat the food at the resturaunts we are going to.

plastic bowls, spoons, cups and bibs. Bottles and pacifiers.

Diapers,wipes,baby wash,lotion,diaper cream.etc.

2 blankets.

We'll have a crib in the room and I'll feed her in her stroller.

Other than that....whatever I forget I'll just find a Target or a Walmart when I get there and go buy it.

Here are a few more:

* swim diapers

* some type of baby carrier....can't bring strollers in line and a sling or hip hammock can be a lifesaver!

* cooler bag to carry your own drinks/bottles and snacks in the park

* large changing pad or towel for diaper changes

Since you mentioned renting a crib from ABBF, I would recommend that you also consider renting a play yard. We did that for our (then) 11-month old last trip. At this age, they are into EVERYTHING and have no sense of danger. It was REALLY nice to be able to put her someplace to play in safety - and really nice to be able to go to the bathroom or do something else in the meantime. It was a lifesaver when we were trying to pack up our things and get organized to get out the door each morning.

The play yards do take up a lot of room, but you'll have the extra space at the Poly.

Have a great trip! :goodvibes We're going in October as well, with our crew (and a new 15-month old).

Great thread!!!! We are taking our 1st little one in October too - but not until October 2009. He will be 11 months when we go!

Thank you for the great tips everyone!!! I think I'm going to start collecting stuff now to make sure I have everything. I've already starting trying to find shorts etc. in the next biggest size on sale so that he has some comfy clothes to wear. I just can't believe how fast they grow out of clothes!! I'm just really guessing what size he will need - probably 18 - 24 months. He's a big guy!

The play yard idea is wonderful!! I'm going to add it to the rental list now!

Thanks!

I agree
2 outfits per day I would put one in a ziploc bag so just in case I could put wet or solied clothing in there.
2 sweatshirts
2 bathing suits
Swim Diapers
Baby gum/toothbrush
stick on placemats Babies r us

Don't forget favorite blanket and toy. Also baby bottle brush dish liquid and a towel for drying bottles after. We also bought a fan for the stroller which was a big help and a rain cover for the stroller it rained everyday we were there.

Garden grocer will be a big help they will deliver to the resort so you don't have to ship.

Don't fret the baby centers in the parks have all of the things you may forget and the prices were not to bad.

Also Have fun and don't try to do too much!

It's been a while since I had one that age, but I always packed a bunch of the small containers of diced fruits (pears, peaches). They are softer and squishier than fresh fruit and fruits/veggies can be hard to come by on vacation. Also, LOTS of snacks - crackers, gerber puffs, cheerios, etc.

Don't forget to bring extra sippy cups (we always seem to lose them on vacation) and something to clean them with. Same goes for bottles if you are using them.

The sticky placemats were always a plus at that age. I'm somewhat of a germaphobe.:lmao: LOTS of purell too (I squirt some on a baby wipe and clean the tables, highchair, etc).

Diapers, wipes, swim diapers, ziploc bags of all different sizes, rain cover for the stroller. Oh, and disposable bibs!

Oh, and I always took a few receiving blankets, the soft thin ones that came in a 2 or 3 pack (I think Carter's made them?). I would always keep one rolled up in the bottom of my diaper bag. They make a nice large changing pad, a blanket, or sometimes I've even used them to dry off a wet stroller or clean up a spill of some sort.

Don't forget some tylenol/motrin and a thermometer. There's nothing worse than a baby waking up in the middle of the night with an ear infection and not having any pain reliever!

I always way overpacked clothes at that age. They don't take up much room and I'd rather have too much than not enough. Don't forget a sunhat and sunscreen!
