I figure this is the best place to ask...trip for 2 adults 1/31/2015-2/6/2015

Wondering what your must pack list would include for this time of year?

I'm from the northeast originally so the temperatures should be good for me(assuming I can get by with a cardigan and jeans most days) but my wife is born and raised in the south so I'm wondering if we need to pack a lot of warm clothes or not?

Glad to see the rain level isn't too high for the month of February.

Any other tips for this time of the year are appreciated.

Hi! I live here and I'm sure some other locals will chime in. I am originally from the NE but have been here for 18 years. FL early Feb can be similar to April up north. You are never really sure what you are going to get.
It's usually pretty cool still that time of year. 60's low 70's for highs and mid/high 40-50's at night. It has been colder and it has been a bit warmer.
I would say bring at least one pair of shorts but also bring light jackets or sweats. At least for evenings you want a jacket. Living here, I don't break out shorts until the beginning of March but I freeze at anything below 70 degrees.

The good thing is the humidity will be low so even if we get a warm spell, it will be comfortable. They are predicting a wetter than normal winter here this year (we'll see) so ponchos might be on your list just in case.

Have a great visit.

I have gone many times in Feb and I pack for two seasons. I pack mainly shorts and t-shirts but also throw in a pair or two of jeans and a sweat shirt and a light jacket. In the pocket of the light jacket tuck a pair of those stretchy winter gloves The night are chilly and the boat rides even chillier.

Prepare for extremes, just in case. We've only been once, towards the end of January in 2009. Two weeks before we went and two weeks after we got back it was 85° every day in Orlando. While we were there, the morning temp was 27° and it only got into the low 40s in the afternoon. It was unusual, the coldest cold snap they'd had in 7 years. If we had brought coats and gloves etc., we would have been much more comfortable. We bought Mickey Mouse sweatshirts, Mickey Mouse gloves, wore double shirts, double sweatshirts, and still frozen our tails off.

I went on my firstFebruary trip this year. The first couple of days, it was warm enough to swim. We went to the waterpark on Day One! Then it cooled off a bit. I wore capris most days. . but needed a sweatshirt in early morning and evenings! It only rained for two hours one afternoon, so we were pretty lucky.

I think its a good idea to bring a little bit of everything (shorts, capris, jeans, swimsuit, sweatshirt) and just plan to layer. It's an unpreditcible time of year, and you just never now!

I have a late Jan trip planned and though I'm waiting until the week before to decide for sure my plan as of now is to take coordinating items that can all layer or be worn separate and to wear some items twice. (I'll wash if needed but I'm fine with wearing them twice if they are not 'dirty') I'll arrive on Sunday, have 4 park days and then return on Friday. So 6 days worth of clothing. I've done a couple of trips (WDW and other places) where I would have different seasons in one trip. Layering is the key for me.

My plan is to take 3-4 'bottoms'. One pair of shorts, one pair of jeans and one pair of capris. I'll fill in a 4th piece depending on weather forcasts a few days before the trip.

Then I'll take 6 short sleeve shirts with one or two long sleeve undershirts that will go with any of them. That way if it's warm I'll just wear a ss shirt, but if it's cooler I can layer two shirts.

I usually wear a zip up hoodie on planes but again if it's cold I'll wear a regular hoodie to travel in and have the zip of hoodie in my suitcase. Those two pieces will be worn multiple times as outerwear.

I will sometimes also pack a set of those light weight 'silk' themals. They are so easy to pack but so warm for a cold snap.

I went 1st week of March last year and we had snow and ice in OKC, my lay over (longer because of weather delays in OKC/Dallas that made me miss a flight) in Houston was also having winter storms. I had jeans a tshirt and a hoodie on and froze my butt off in the terminal at Houston, but I didn't need my jeans or hoodie the 4 days in FL at all. I hate to overpack clothes but sometimes you just have to have multi season options. And weather can just change on a dime.
