Packing breakfasts for the hotel?

I'm putting a list together of food to pack from home so that we can have quick, somewhat healthy breakfasts at the hotel before hitting the parks. One trip I did oatmeal in the hotel room using water for the coffee pot, but I'd rather not do that again. Any ideas?

We did quick oats with the coffee pot and added whey, peanut butter and banana to it.. Love that breakfast :)

We also took cereal and bought milk at the store in the resort to keep in the fridge.

Cream of wheat and grits can also be done if instant.

Bagels, peanut butter and bananas too

We took bowls, plates, silverware for each of us and I would just wash them after each use. Worked out well.

We did oatmeal but I requested a microwave.

Cereal, bagels, crackers and jelly/cream cheese. I also had the healthy pop tart...sigh...

We also had bowls, cups and utensils but I didn't wash them, I threw them away after each use.

I did ask my kids what they wanted for breakfast.

We usually do cold cereal and milk like this, with our correlle unbreakable bowls. We fly, so one suitcase is usually filled with food (cereal, protein bars, snack crackers, homemade cookies, and a box-o-wine, not the icky cheap wine, they make nice wines in a box now). We've bought milk at the resort, and we've also brought shelf stable Organic Horizons Milk boxes (like juice boxes but for milk) We also bring a protein bar into the park and eat that on the go, so we're really pretty much set until lunch.

Bagels, peanut butter, Nutrigrain bars, cereal, and although not healthy, we usually get a box of entemanns donuts too!

We plan on doing a grocery run before checking in and mostly grabbing cereal for breakfast.

Thanks everyone for the ideas. :goodvibes Cereal and milk bought there sounds like a good plan.

Have any of you used the grocery delivery place there? We are flying, and won't have a car.

Don't I know it! :lmao: That is a GREAT idea.

Monorail Silver, I was thinking about those "healthy" pop tarts too. I think I'll bring those.

Here's what I bring, not every item, I change them up for each trip but this is for the most part my vacation list for food items. We drive so it's easier to bring a lot of these items. You might want to think about a food delivery service. Garden Grocer is pretty popular on here, and seems to get great reviews.

Breakfast - Pop tarts, Cereal bars, Cereal , Granola bars, fruit, milk, juice or juice boxes, bagels & cream cheese.

Snack - Chips, Pretzels, Crackers, salsa, dips, carrots & celery w/ ranch or another dip.

Late night - Bread or those small rounds 100 calories bun type, peanut butter and jelly. When we would get back to the room, the girls would turn into starving wolves, and this with some milk would take care of it.

Something we started when our DD's were little was to bring snacks for the pool, we would take some of the other items listed, and added in rolled deli meat and cheese, pickles, olives. ( remember no glass at the pool so I just would throw some in a baggie) Something that they could grab and eat all along. Bring some juice boxes, soda, water whatever. We have a soft sided collapsible cooler that we would carry along to the pool. We still do this now that its just us. But now we include adult beverages, with our grown up snacks ;)

We generally eat breakfast in the hotel. We order from Garden Grocer each trip because we fly. While more expensive than buying groceries yourself, it is convenient, cheaper than renting a car to go to the store, and generally cheaper than buying food on property. We have never had an issue with service. Our order has always been there waiting.

We mix it up between healthy and not so healthy options (we are on vacation after all). In fact, vacation is about the only time we ever have poptarts or Doritos so it makes it kind of special. We usually get a few of the following for breakfast depending on the trip: poptarts, muffins, cereal, milk, granola bars, cereal bars, and fruit. We will also typically order snacks to take into the parks and to take to the pool as well as drinks. We save a fortune on water alone by doing that.

In the past, we have brought a glass bowl and then purchased eggs at the store to microwave for breakfast sandwiches. We rent a car for a day and visit Whole Foods and save a decent amount making lunches and some breakfasts in our room. Plus, we don't go home with as much of a restaurant food hangover :-).

Without a car rental, you could still bring granola, bread, nut butter, apples, fruit purees in a pouch, trail mix, ground coffee and a French press, bagels, and much more.

If we have breakfast in the room it is some combination of cinnamon raisin bagels with jelly, cereal and milk, bananas, grapes and applesauce ordered from Garden Grocer.

We were there in March and stayed at AoA. We had a small microwave and fridge. I pre-ordered from garden grocer so we ate breakfast in our room every morning which saved us so much time. I know garden grocer was expensive, but I figured that by the time we got to somewhere to eat, every morning, it would have probably added up to the same amount.

I ordered apples, grapes, bananas, blueberries, bread, peanut butter, Cheerios, milk, yogurt (Chobani for me), string cheese, can of mixed nuts, and I think that was mostly it. It served us well both as breakfast and snacks.

Will any hotel provide a microwave? And do you request it early or at check in?

I requested it at check in at the poly. My son has numerous food allergies and I was able to make him Rice Krispie treats using his butter (yes I brought Rice Krispies and marshmallows and parchment paper so it would t stick). He eats oatmeal for breakfast so I was able to make him that as well so he didn't have to have cereal or a pop tart everyday.

That's so cool of you to make a treat in your hotel room that he can eat at Disney. :goodvibes

We ended up buying some Pop Tarts and LaraBars here, and then ordered a bunch of stuff from Green Grocer: fruit, yogurt, granola, and muffins. Thanks for all the suggestions!

This is exactly what we do, as our kids are creatures of habit - it's our breakfast at home. We bathe the kids at night, so while we are showering, the kids sit on the bed and watch cartoons while they eat.

oatmeal bar or Cliff Zbar, yogurt tubes, and a cut up apple or grapes.

We then eat an early lunch! Avoids the crowds.

My kids like the Pepperidge Farm breads for breakfast. They have a cinnamon and a blueberry that they really like. They eat it plain, it's pretty flavorful so they don't need it to be toasted or have anything on it.

I do Belvita breakfast biscuits. They come four in a package and five packages per box, and are filling and delicious! I also bring a couple packages of Dole fruit cups. They have to go in checked luggage because of the juice so I put them in a couple bags in case they leak.
