I am stressing over what to do about all the baby supplies I will need to bring for my 9 month old daughter. The food especially scares me- she is on formula and 3 meals of baby food jars each day. I can't possibly pack all those jars!! Can someone tell me their suggestions on packing for baby???? ::MinnieMo

Couple of options: You could go to the grocery store after you arrive if you plan on a rental car.
You could fed-ex these ahead of time to your resort, where the package would be waiting for you when you arrived. Having not done this before, I believe you'd need the resort address, along with your name & confirmation # on the outside of the box. Check with your local fed-ex to see exactly what day you should ship out in order for it to get there on your arrival day
There's also a website, think its' wegoshop.com you fax them a list with your requests and they deliver it to your room upon arrival. Try this thread:http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=731933&highlight=wegoshop for some more info or do a search of the boards for wegoshop, turned up quite a few.

Many of the towncar/limmo companies also offer a complimentary grocery stop, if you travel with them.

Someone was raving about this site awhile back and I bookmarked it for our use. They loved the service and said it was worth the cost. We personally never used it since we rent a car each time and pick up the stuff we need at the grocery store.

We used wegoshop.com on our last trip and LOVED it.

They brought food, formula, diapers, wipes, baby soap/lotion, disposable bibs, cheerios---all we needed.

It was much easier than packing it OR shopping for it myself.

I am preparing to get flamed for bringing my own snacks, but here goes...
I packed one mid-sized bag for our trip with all kinds of snacks, crackers, cheesesticks, juiceboxes, cereal bars etc. I checked it at the airport, and then when we ate most of them there, I had room for NEW STUFF! Remember, you leave with more than you brought!

We went last May with a 9month old and I shipped a box of supplies to the resort. It has diapers, formula, food, extra bottles, snacks, etc. I called the resort to get the shipping address and asked if they allowed shipped boxes and they said yes. Just put the checkin name and date of arrival and they will hold it for you. That gave me the option of pick up things a little at a time as I started filling the box a month or 2 before we went. You could also use the box to ship back home if needed. We also did the grocery store stop with Tiffany Town Car and that worked great also. This was a stop for grownup food and not baby supplies. So we have done both and think both were very reliable and simple. And if all else fails, Disney always has supplies for you for a price. I believe the baby care centers at the park may also have supplies if you get desperate while at the park.

I wouldn't flame you! I think it's a great idea! We do that with the diapers, we get the jumbo Pampers and they take up 1/2 the suitcase.

We went last year when our DS was 9 months old. He was also on formula.

I called Goodings outside of Disney & found out they only carried the 32oz cans of formula. Which was fine for in the hotel, but since formula cannot be out of the fridge for more then 2 hours I was concerned.

I was silly enough to go & buy enough of the nursettes & 8oz pop top cans of formula for our entire trip! And I packed them! Crazy I know, but I did it.

When we got to FL we spent the first few nights off site (DH was there for a conference). So we went to the grocery store to buy enough diapers & baby food for the trip. I found Goodings is WAY overpriced for diapers.

So we went to Walgreens, where I found the diapers for cheaper. And wouldn't you know, they had the 6oz nursettes & 8oz pop top cans!
Once we moved onsite I had everything I needed so I did not have to go to the store again. But if you dont have a car, some of the towncar companies will give you a free stop at a grocery store when you use them to pick you up at the airport.

The ready to feed formula in the pop top cans & nursettes are great for in the parks! You dont have to worry about keeping them cold. And when baby wants some, just pop a can & pour it in a bottle! Just remember to rinse out the bottle after baby is done (otherwise the smell can get bad in the heat!).

I bought a bottle brush and a small thing of soap & would wash the bottles & sippy cups every night back in the hotel room.

For the most part I made my DS's baby food, but the jars did come in handy at the parks. Also most of the sit down resturants had something good, bland & mushy I could feed DS. :)

If I had thought about it I would have probably shipped some of our stuff to the hotel before us. But I carried it all on the plane! The bag was HEAVY, but on the plus side, coming home I had plenty of room for stuff we bought...LOL!

I have heard that the grocery stores around Disney can be expensive for baby food. Also, that the supplies they sell in the parks and hotels are overpriced. Can someone give me an example?? Being that I live in New York City- I am used to paying high prices. Has anyone bought a jar of baby food in a hotel and what did it cost? And was it a popular brand such as Gerber?? ::MinnieMo

We have traveled many times to WDW with our children and when my daughter was still using baby food and formula we just packed all of it in a large duffle bag. We used the diapers as our cushion for the jars. Gerber now makes the fruits in the plastic containers so they won't break and for her veggies I just put a piece of bubble wrap around the jars and they were fine. We also just brought powdered formula. We made zip lock bags with enough powder in each one for a bottle. When we needed to make a bottle at the hotel or the parks we just grabbed a bag and dumped it in a bottle and added bottled water. That was it!!! If you keep the water at room temp. it doesn't take very long to run it under some hot water to heat it up.

The main reason why we chose to bring everything was the cost, the convienence of having it with you and not going to a store, and when it was time to go home we had a HUGE empty bag to bring all our souveniers home!!!

According to their website, Gooding's sells 4 oz. Gerber jars for 89 cents. If you use formula, consider bringing powdered formula. It wasn't often my first choice at home, but I ALWAYS used it when I left the house, even when going to a friend's house. It never needs to be refrigerated, you can pre-measure it (I used to use a little plastic jar with several sections made just for this purpose -- it included a turning top with a lidded spout so you could "connect" the open lid to the open end of a bottle and not spill a speck of powder!), and some brands even come in "straws" or "sleeves" pre-measured to mix with 4 oz. of water.

I know some people aren't keen on powdered formula, but take it from this husband of a pediatrician and father of 2 happy and healthy pre-schoolers -- my wife and I stocked up on it and used it all the time out of the house, and many times in the house as well. Soooo convenient!

From the NY area here! The stuff in the grocery stores was not that much more than at home. Do not rely on the hotels for food and diapers and stuff. They have a VERY limited supply. It is all name brand, Gerber, Beechnut, Huggies. But they are expensive and there isn't much selection. For example, the diapers are only sold in small packages....maybe 10 in the package. They also had a limited amount of formula. It seems they only sell it for people who are in dire need of it. They expect people to bring their own.

I always send a box! Filled with tons of things! Its cheap. Use the box to send things home. You can send it right from your hotel! Put your check in date and name on the box.

Same here, makes lots of room for stuff to take home. Bring your won swim dipaers too, they cost alot on property.

The prices at Puplix wasn't any more for baby food then at home when we were there in March, but the selection just wasn't as good. (sizes and in plasic like I wanted.) At my local store they sell the Gerbers furits and Veggies in plasic in both one and two sizes, they didn't there. She was 7 months so we had only started baby food for a month and I wanted to be sure she only ate things she had tried before just in case. We brought some with us and bought some. Baby food doesn't take up as much room as big people's food.

When we went in 2001 and DD#1 was 9 months old we did not have a car or grocery stop. I packed the baby food in jars in rubber maid contairs in my luggage. It worked out fine.

I don't think the prices at the baby care sations were that bad, maybe 10 cents more then the store, and it was so convenent. However the only spoons they had were full size plasic blue ones. Bring your own baby spoons and disposable bibs. Target has these really cute Winnie the Pooh ones that are much better then the bibster ones. And they look cute for the pictures at meals too!

Trying to decied who much to bring this next trip, (in 4 weeks.) She will be 9 months old then too. Luckely I have all the milk she will need on me so I don't have to worry how to pack that.

If your baby ueses pasifers bring extra of the kind he /she likes and bring clips too. Much cleaner then them falling on the floor.

Hi!

We leave on Sunday and I'm using WeGoShop to get formula (we also nurse), diapers, wipes, bottled water, and baby food. One thing I had to do was find out what baby food was sold at which stores in FL. I usually make DD's food or, if she gets a jar, it's Earth's Best. Wouldn't you know they don't have that down there? But they do have Gerber's Tender Harvest, so I tried a few of those out on DD here and we're good to go. If you have a specific brand in mind, just go to their website and do "store locator."

I've used netgrocer before without any problems. We now always rent a car and stopp at the Super Target on the way to pick up baby supplies. Our next trip is for only 5 days, so I'm hoping I'll be able to fit it all in my luggage

I second both JetSetBabies and WeGoShop. We have used them both and were very pleased each time. It really depends on your needs, although WeGoShop provided a more personal touch.

Thanks for the great ideas! My daughter will be nine months old when we go on our Land/Sea vacation in the beginning of May. I'm going to look into those two websites for prices. Does the hotel provide a crib or pack n play?
Anyone have any problems with those items?

We used the hotel pack and play. It worked great. I brought a 9 month old last year. We loved having the bottle brush not only for the bottles, but the refillable mugs. I also packed everything in ziploc bags everyday. We had extra clothes for each child in the ziploc bags. It actually made it easier to get through security with everything in clear bags. We packed entire suitcase of snacks and food so it was great to have all the space when we returned. We used the plastic food containers and usually fed him something from the table too. It was not that hard and we had a great time.
