Late october...I don't recall ever needing "warmer" clothes at all. Maybe one year, but as far as I can tell it's still fairly humid late october, right?

Yes it will most likely still be very warm for the next month at least, it's still summer-close-to-90-degrees every day here right now.

I've been in October before too and I'm kind of the same way. If I remember correctly, it was cool in the early morning and then nice and warm in the afternoon and evening. The only problem is I don't have really any capris so I will to wear shorts for the most part. Hope that isn't a bad decision.

We had a cold front go through on one of our trips (actually our first trip) and we were unprepared and I had to make an emergency run to Downtown Disney for warmer clothes (hit the 40s at night and only got up to 60s during the day). So now I pack a little of everything. My guideline is at least two of everything. We stay in villas so have access to a washer and dryer, but we still need something to wear when the other is in the wash!

I've been lots of times in October and am about to go again later this month. I feel you on the uncertainty!

There's a huge chance the weather will be lovely, with highs in the 80's. But one year (2008, in fact) a weird cold front came through on October 28. We were totally unprepared and had packed only shorts and short-sleeved tops! It became jeans and long-sleeved top weather overnight . . . I want to say maybe highs in the upper 50's or so. Deep in our Disney cocoon, we hadn't heard a weather forecast and foolishly left for the parks in our shorts; we rapidly became miserable and were forced to buy jackets.

Now I pack mostly shorts and t-shirts, but throw in a few pairs of jeans and a light/medium weight jacket as well.

Yes, I recall 2011 being quite chilly, and I was not at all prepared. Ended up purchasing some sweatshirts and such. I guess I will plan to layer...Ugh. I just hate packing more LOL

I'm with you! The last trip I went on in October was in 2012 and the weather was warm and sunny when we arrived...until a hurricane passed over the more northern east coast and turned our temperature right down!! The kids were wearing their PJ's under their clothes in the morning and evenings in place of long underwear! We spent a small fortune on sweatshirts and throw blankets to cuddle up in for parades and fireworks! This time I am packing layers for all temperatures - just in case! I figure that I will probably want at least one sweatshirt for nights anyway and I can always roll up full length jeans into a trendy crop length if it stays warm! ;)

I've been watching the extended 45 day forecast since our trip dates fell into that window, and the forecast has become cooler and more rainy as our dates get closer. I think the highs are 79/80 and the rain percentages are like 55-75%.

Really hoping this changes for the better in the next 3 weeks, especially the rain part (the temp sounds great to me, though I'm not sure if it would be warm enough for DS to go swimming).

I'm mainly worried about the rain because of the Halloween party. DD has an amazing costume and don't want anything to get rained out!!!!

The later in October you go, the higher the chance for a brief freak cold front. One came in last year on November 1. We are going 10/24-11/2, so I'll bring one jacket and a pair of jeans just in case, depending on what the weather forecast says as we get closer.

Really, the only time to start thinking about what to pack is when you are within ten days of your departure. And then be prepared to take things out or add things into your suitcase(s) because you will need to check the weather forecast every day since it changes that much.

Plus - what you wear is your personal choice. If my husband and I were going in October, he'd pack shorts and T shirts and one pair of jeans and then take a jacket. I'd pack jeans and one pair of shorts, a few short sleeve T shirts and more long sleeve T-shirts and two sweatshirts. Plus extra socks in case my feet get cold. We have different body temperatures so we just pack what we think we need.

Yes! That was the year of the nighttime emergency run to DTD in order to buy pants for my son, which ended up costing a ridiculous amount of money and which he never wore again. After that trip, I vowed to always bring clothes for all seasons in October. Of course, the next year it was ridiculously hot and we wore shorts all week so I was totally overpacked. You just can't win in October.

I figured I'll just pack my normal this time - shorts, a couple of capris, tank tops and my 2 light sweater type things. Plus I always have my jean jacket when I travel. It's been in the 60's here in Georgia lately and I've been fine with my capri's so I'm not bringing jeans - I'm attempting to keep my suitcase to only 40 lbs since I'll be the one having to lift it. :mickeybar:upsidedow

It's just me so if the weather takes a weird temperature turn, I can buy one sweatshirt or hoodie to add another layer.

It's 30 degrees warmer in Orlando than St. Andrews right now so I'm sticking with shorts!
