We are lugging our stroller down to WDW--
I thought I had seen a heavy gauge nylon zippered bag to put a folded stroller in --

to ship with the luggage.

Otherwise, how do I pack it?

No need to check it with your luggage - you can gate check the stroller, which means that you can wheel it right up to the door of the airplane and leave it there. Airline employees will then stow it in a special compartment and it will be waiting for you when you exit the plane. They will give you a ticket (receipt) for the stroller when you get to your gate.

DON'T CHECK IT AS BAGGAGE! If it ends up under a mountain of luggage it will get bent. Always gate-check a stroller, even if you won't be using it in the airport.

To further minimize the possibility of any damage, I recommend removing the hood and any trays or accessories that are on it for the flight, and sending those packed inside your checked luggage.

Thanks for the info. Our son is 5, so we are taking it with just in case he gets tired at the parks, etc....and of course a place to put all our junk! ha ha

It's not an umbrella type. It's a normal size stroller--can I still gate check it?
Last time we went it was new, so we just put it in the box with all the beach towels and it was fine.

DS was three at the time--most exciting thing was on the way home, he looked out the plane window and yelled "there's my stroller box" --as they were loading it on the plane with the luggage!

Yes, you can still gate check it. You may consider getting one of the newer umbrella strollers. They can run anywhere from $30 and up. They are as lightweight as an umbrella stroller and have all the features of a large canopy stroller such as a hanging bag under the stroller for items purchased and a canopy for the little one. They also recline. They are basically a Canopy stroller made smaller and lighter.

Check it at the gate. It's nice to have it at the gate for your child or your luggage.
