I like these patterns together! I love your DS's shirt too!
I did mine with just one big button on each side. The only thing I would recommend is to make the buttonhole go ACROSS the top instead of perpendicular. I did mine the other way as I was worried that the buttonhole would actually be too big to fit, but it makes it hang lower than it is supposed to... I could "fix" it by moving the button back on the underside, but I'm too lazy...
Thanks for the advice! I will definitely do the one-button next time.
I love these. I have a pattern for a round neck top but haven't figured out what fabrics I want to use yet. Love Jacob's shirt too. I may have to CASE this for Michael and Parker!
Thank you! I can totally see cute Parker in one of these.
Very cute! I think you did an excellent job on the zipper. I have read about people making shorts just using some existing ones, so just try it! I need lots of instructions so I bought a couple of patterns when they were on sale at the store.
They look great! I REALLY need to get going on some 4th of July stuff! I haven't sewn in 2 weeks! Sadly I've been cleaning house and doing laundry instead.
Well, that's what I should be doing, lol. I have a long list of chores and a huge stack of sewing so guess what I am tackling?
Steph - I did DD's round neck top with only one button. I actually like it better with just the one... (Of course, I think she has the top on backwards in these pics.)
That is cute, even backwards. I like how you did the contrasting button. I was so afraid that I was going to mess them up so I bought buttons the same color as the collar. I like how yours looks so I am going to try that next time. Thanks!
Love that top! I think the fabrics look great together! Love the T too!
Thank you!
Super cute!!! You realize now I HAVE to make DD something for the 4th, right?
Thanks!
Typically its pretty hot and humid here on the 4th - where are you going to be in PA???????
DH's parents have a tiny cottage on the allegheny outside of their home town of Warren. The best way I can describe it is halfway between Pittsburgh and Buffalo. It is usually hot, but it is always cooler down by the river and I remember one year it was raining and chilly (well, chilly to a Floridian, lol).
Cute! No, it's not too much; I think it is great!
If y'all have some time take a look at this.
http://www.ohfransson.com/oh_fransson/vintage-pillowcase-lunchb.html
It is a pattern for the cutest lunchbox ever!!! And she also has some other cute things for tutorials....
That is cute! Thanks for finding and sharing.
I'm an auntie (again but if never gets old!). She doesn't have a name yet

but she sounds good! Daddy put her up to the phone and said "say Hi to Auntie Kristine" and she let out a good yell!

That's my girl!!! Poor mom has been in labor for 22 hours and pushed for over 4 hours!!!
Congratulations! Poor mom.
Those are totally cute! I love making shorts for boys; they are so easy.
I think that it is cute and I always only do one button.
Thank you!
HEY guys!!! There is a new pattern by CarlaC over on YCMT!!!
THE NEW BOWLING SHIRT IS HERE!!! THE NEW BOWLING SHIRT IS HERE!!!!!
Hooray!

Please pray for my family !!! I feel that things are just getting worse in my life, my headaches are worsening and I am scarred to go to see my neurosurgeon as I know that I will not get good news,...then this morning 6:00am my husband was on his way to work on his bicycle and got hit by a car, the driver took off , my husband was knocked out on the street, no one stopped to help but a homeless guy who ran and called for help, he was taken to the hospital, Thank God he is OK, nothing serious but the tendons in his right hand were badly damage and will need surgery...I feel like I am falling apart

I am so sorry to be so off topic but needed to let this out of my chest...
Thank you for listening
linnette
Please go to the doctor. Isn't it worse not knowing?

Hope your husband is better soon and the surgery goes well.
Awww I think those look great Steph! I have learned to just NOT ask my DH's opinion on sewing stuff!! Hahahahaha!~
I bet you can't wait for Friday, huh??? Are you gonna spend the weekend with your folks up there??
Thanks! He always thinks everything is "too much," so I usually don't ask. I think because Megan wasn't here I wanted reassurance. Yes, I trust Megan's opinion more than his (she has to wear it, after all).
Yeah, I am going to drive up Friday and spend the weekend with them. I think Jacob misses me but Megan could not care less!
I need help with the YCMT Criss Cross Dress!
I am making this for my daughters for the Fourth of July. I have the top part done for my oldest and I tried it on her so I can measure her for the skirt. The top is pretty tight on her, wearable but maybe slightly uncomfortable. I know I measured her correctly and was wondering what anyone might think the problem is. I was also very careful with my seam allowances too.
When I make the next one for my younger daughter (whose measurements are almost exactly the same) do you think I ought to increase all of the measurements or do you think I should just increase the length of the 4 pieces of elastic in the back by an inch so there is a little more "give"?
TIA!
I've never made this, but sometimes I have to adjust the elastic in the back so I would think that would work. I have been shirring with elastic thread in the back of things lately and I really like that look too.
I posted this over on the crafts but, thought you all might want to check it out. They look super easy to make. It would make good totes for water parks or well all kinds of things. You ladies and guys are creative. I am thinking WDW bags,
Disney store bags (it's been so long I forget what they look like

) etc.
Anyone see them? There is a tutorial over on
etsy (click). I saw some for sale at
Target (click) but, I couldn't bring myself to buy plastic bags, lol. I have a couple of disney bags left over from our trips. Why oh why did I toss most of them.

Anyway when I get done I will post some pics. Here are some other cute ones I found online:
here,
here, and
here.
Those are just wallet styles but, imagine them in a big bag faaabulous! There are lots of cute bag styles at
etsy (non-disney) to give you good ideas about what kind you could make.
so.....who has some bags they'd like to share
That's cool! Thanks for sharing!
Totally OT but Thank you (and everyone else). My friends death has been a horrible shock. Babies are doing okay. Poor dad was one of those guys who had never cooked a meal/given a bath!!! But he's learning. Currently, everyone is doing okay. First couple of days were rough (baby was solely nursed and the 3 yr old...who may be autistic...just wandered around yelling "mom"). Baby had a rough transition to formula/bottle (we couldn't even put stored breast milk in it because mom died of pneumonia and the CDC called and told us to toss any stored milk cuz it could have passed). Okay seriously...that's the end of my sad story for today (this is a board about the Happiest Place on Earth for cryin' out loud)! The important thing is that they are doing ok!
That family is lucky to have you as a friend.
