Packed lunch us/ioa?

we always pack lunch when heading to Disney, like fruits, veggies, sometimes sandwiches or single serve cereals. We also pack lots of water bottles.

It's our first trip to universal, so I'm not familiar with their rules. Ive just noticed on their website "no picnic lunches", and restrictions on cooler size. How particular are they about these rules?

They allow you to bring in packed lunches before a certain time in the evening, when City Walk is coming to life. At least, that is what we were told a while back by a team member. I forget the exact time. You should have no problem in the morning/early afternoon, but later than that they may not let you bring in anything but water. We bring in a packed lunch nearly every visit.

As long as you are not bringing in a wheeled cooler, you should be fine even if you come in the evening with food items

Anyone with dietary restrictions are encouraged to bring the items they need if they will be unable eat in the park

We use an Igloo MaxCold cooler backpack and it's fine.
