My birthday is going to be during ds(9) and my wdw vacation in september, and he went shopping the other day with dm and bought me some presents to give me.

The question I have is will Delta allow the wrapped presents in the check-in luggage or will it have to be opened and inspected.

I am curios because I want to know if I should open at home or if I will take them.

I wouldn't wrap the packages. Also if they are something valuable I wouldn't take it with you. Things have been known to disapear from luggage.

Thank You,

I will go ahead and open them at home, sounds safer.

I know about things disappearing, I fly one trip from DL to home and packed my sons, soverniers just toys and they were gone when we got home.

We quickly packed souvenirs in our checked luggage when we were going home. Many were wrapped in tissue paper or boxes by the store, as they were a little fragile. Most of the time the bags are only x-rayed. Sometimes they are opened. We had 8 bags - 6 had TSA locks and 2 had tie raps. None of our bags were opened - souvenirs in pretty good shape and nothing missing. I wouldn't pack anything of significant value, though, such as jewelry, electronics, etc. in the checked baggage. Bring it in your carry-on.

Any suggestions for hiding the new computer gaming system from the kids?

We're traveling for Christmas, and wanted to bring this with us, in our carry-on, but I can't think of how the kids aren't going to see it, esp when they have to swab it...???

I'm thinking Santa might surprise them at the hotel the night before our flight (while we're out for dinner...)

TIA!

I would ship it to yourself at your resort.

I've taken the chance and flown with wrapped packages for years at Christmas time. As long as you know the risk that you may have to rewrap you should be fine. Also, I don't fly with things that might be stolen - those get shipped.
