Packages and Discounts

Do the packages offered (by disneyworld) provide any discounts? Basically, if I priced everything out separately would I just come to the package total?

Also - are most discounts typically just for the rooms and not the tickets? I'm considering getting things seperately but want to make sure I'm not missing some great deal with a package.

The packages will be slightly higher than what you would price out separately. They ususally add something in like a couple of "free" pin lanyards or a special something like a "free" dinner at Planet Hollywood or a Leave a Legacy tile at Epcot.

Discounts can come out for room only, but I have been able to use those same discounts towards my package price.
