I was just reading another posting about the pay for 5 stay for 7 package, and I was curious if you can use any codes or AAA for a discount on this or any other packages.

Disney's policy is to use only 1 discount at a time. So that would be either an AAA discount OR a "code" discount.

Enjoy!

One or the other, no double dipping.

What is the AAA discount on a pkg generally? Is it worth joining to get it and are there only a certain number of rooms available at that rate? I would be applying it to a pkg that is already booked and paid for.

Thanks

AAA discounts are generally around 10-15%. There are only so many rooms available. Generally, (almost always, I'd think), a WDW "code" discount would be a better deal than AAA.

But AAA is better than nothing!!

Would I be better off joining AAA then calling in the discount or calling CRO and asking if I can get it THEN join and call in AAA? am too late for the really good code (June 6-12th). :(

I just missed out and am bruised from all the kicking myself I have been doing.

I don't think you need to show your AAA card until you check in. I'd call the CRO first to see what they have available. If you find something suitable, you can then join AAA.

That's what I'd do.

Good luck!

AAA discount on the Swan and Dolphin is about 50%.

Wow! Though I'm not an "Epcot" person, I'll have to look into this for a future visit.........

:( Oh well. A day late and a discount short. I did the AAA thing and all of the packages available for the AAA discount are booked. My best hope now is that someone with one of these cancels and I call and get it. Hmmmmm.... should I just play the lottery instead? At least I tried and I will keep trying until I get something lower than rack rate.

I did get some PS for the shows though. It seems that we will be "park hopping" to get to PS's quite a bit. Oh well.

Thanks for all your help.

I booked a package w/Silver add on for last July through AAA. What AAA does is call travel companies. My TA called one and the person had no clue what he was doing. So TA called WDT for a price. There really was no savings. I had priced everything out on WDW site and took all my information with me to AAA. WDT gave TA a price and TA replied that she (meaning me) has all her papers in front of her with the prices from the WDW site. There were a few more words and another price of about $200 less ~ so I booked it. Then I found the DIS and found out about codes. When a code came out, I called my TA and asked about it. She called WDT and was told that the code that I needed had to be 4 letters (not 3) for a package and if I could find it to call back. Soooo, off to the internet I went and found me a 4 letter code and called my TA with it. It saved me about another $270. One thing that I did learn from booking with AAA is that I will never do it again. I had to find the code myself. My TA had no clue about codes. I was also the one that told my TA that POFQ was closing for renovations ~ of course that is where I was booked.

That's why we stopped booking through AAA. I learned more about saving money on our trips right here on the Dis than our agent at AAA knew. She would book us and that was it. She never checked later on to see if she could get us a cheaper rate. Also, I have a question about this thread. You can use a code discount OR a AAA discount on the 7 for 5 package? I was under the impression that seven nights for the price of 5 nights was the actual discounted deal. Am I wrong?
