This is the first time I've ever had to deal with this.
We booked a free dining package with 1 day base tickets because we have AP's.

I am afraid one of the kids will use the base tickets by accident.

Can they take the 1-day ticket off of the room key and onto a separate key or something?
Can they put their AP's on their room key?

What is your advice?
Thanks

Yes, they can remove the tickets from the room key and have them placed on a separate ticket. This can be done at the resort concierge desk or the front desk. APs cannot be added to the KTTW.

Good luck actually getting a CM to do it at the resort. I have asked on several occasions and have been told it can't be done or told it will mess up the dining plan credits.

I just make sure I hold all the room keys/tickets so my kids (or DH;)) can't use the wrong one. Then when I get home I write on the room key with a sharpie that it has a ticket on it so I won't forget.

Yes, the response I have repeatedly gotten at resort concierge desks is that they can only move the ticket off the KTTW card at Guest Relations at the parks or Downtown Disney.

I had heard that people could have trouble with removing the tickets and the DDP credits. It hasn't been my own personal experience but I'm sure it happens. I don't think that it's an easy process.

Here's a link to Cheshire Figment's Ticket FAQ post that specifically addresses tickets and KTTW cards:

Whoa! I'm confused:confused3. I thought that AP holders could book a package that includes room and dining WITHOUT having to buy any tickets. Am I wrong?

Passholders don't get free dining. There is an option called "Room and Dining Packages for Passholders" which is not as good as free dining.

This is the breakdown at AKL for 2 adults and 1 child:

AP 40% off rate: $938.00 for 1 week

AP w/dining rate: $2169.27 for 1 week

Free dining offer w/1 day ticket: $1850.31 for 1 week

So if you want free dining, then it's better to go with the standard free dining offer the general public gets. Personally, I'd rather save $912 dollars and use that money to dine and buy souvi's. For AP holders, free dining isn't really free and it's definetly not worth it, at least not for my family. Last month we were there from 8/17-8/21 and our food bill came out to $197.00. We only used our room keys to charge our meals; everything else we paid debit card so we could see how much we would spend on food alone. We do this every trip to see how much we spend on food. Altogether we never spend more than $500 on souvi's, food and other OOP expenses. As DD4 gets older I'm sure that may increase though. LOL

Thanks! This is our first time to be AP holders since the dining plan started, so a lot of this info has been off my radar since it hadn't applied to me until our last trip.
Thanks! :goodvibes

I'm not sure if it is the same process, but we were able to upgrade our ticket to an AP and they took it off the KTTW card with dining credits still intact. We did go to guest relations at AK to do this, though.
