Package vs tickets/hotel?

I'm planning our trip for May 2005, and I'm confused between getting a DreamMaker pkg and getting tickets and booking our resort separately.

We are flying to Orlando, will probably arrive around noon. After checking in to our hotel (ASMo), we want to go to a park. We will fly out in the evening, and we plan to visit a park on the day we leave also. We will schedule some down time during the afternoons for our boys to swim and rest, but will be going to a park every day we're there. We're staying 6 nights/7 days if I have my way, DH wants to stay only 5 nights/6 days; I'm probably going to win,:teeth: I want to try to go to a water park one afternoon if we have time.

So which would be better? I checked on disney's site, and it suggested AP's, but that doesn't really make sense because we won't be going back for at least two years. My boys will be 4 years old and almost 2 at the time of our trip. I'm leaning towards the package, even though they aren't always the best deal, but could I get a 7-day hopper plus and be ok?

HELP!

Yes a 7 day plus would work for you, so might a 5 or 6 day. If you pick one day to sleep in and then go to the water park you would then not need an admission to the regular parks that day. I would only book a package if a discount comes out. You are a long way out. You could book a room (room only) soon to make sure you have what you want, then watch for discount codes here and on www.mousesavers.com
Make sure to join the newsletter, you can get exclusive discounts on tickets sometimes.
There may be a deep discount for AP holders on rooms, in that case it might make sense to buy an AP for one person to get the room discount and then buy PH's for everyone else.
Keep reading here and also read everything Mousesavers has to say, then go over and read some more at www.allearsnet.com which is another good site. There are more but that is a start.

As soon as The Unofficial Guide to WDW for 2005 comes out (should be this summer) buy and read it. It is my best friend these days...
