Hello... question.

As rooms are filling up for Feb during the Princess Run (I want a certain resort and room) I booked. I didn't way to pay the full room price right now because most likely a discount will be available.

I am booked with a package with a ticket (paid the deposit)... does anyone know if I can remove the ticket at a later date and apply a room only discount or will the whole package have to be canceled and rebook hoping at the time I can still get the room?

Thanks

Changing from a package to room only (or vice versa) does require cancelling & rebooking. However, you wouldn't necessarily have to do that to take advantage of a room-only discount. Unless something has changed since the last time I did it, a room-only discount can be applied to the room portion of a package.

I believe porchegrl is correct. If you have a package booked you can call and ask to have a RO discount applied. The discount would only apply to the room portion of the package ( assuming there is availability for your resort, room category, and dates).

This is different than trying to convert a room only reservation to a package. In that case, the reservation would have to be cancelled and a new one made.

Yes I booked a package this year, and when a percent off discount came in, they applied it to the room part of the package. Easy.
However, I was keeping my tickets and package and not looking to get rid of the tickets, so it looks like you are trying to get rid of a package and just have room only. So if that is the case, then you do have to rebook.

If there is availability for the resort and room category you booked, you can ask to apply the room-only discount without removing the tickets.

Yes, as above I said I did it no problem.
It sounded like the OP wanted to Not keep the tickets.,un less I interpreted the opening remarks wrong.

Just want to add that always see if a AAA discount is available now, as is better than nothing if you can't get what you want later.

Yeah, if they want to cancel the tickets then they have to cancel the whole package and re book.
