I posted this in another forum - thought I would ask here as well.

Can you still pick up tickets associated with a package 3 days before check-in? We are going in Sept and our APs will have expired. We will be in Cocoa Beach for a week before our WDW vacation, will likely book a WDW package and may want to pick up the tickets a few days early.

Thank you. :goodvibes

If you are booking an on-site stay and they ship you magicbands, those will become "active" for park admissions essentially as soon as you have them in your hand.

So far this is still done. I was able to do it on my last trip a few months ago:thumbsup2

Once I have them, can I use them to book FP+ reservations before my check-in date since they will be tickets in my MDE, or does their being tied to a package kill that possibility? How about at kiosks in the parks? Anyone tried this yet?

2. or does their being tied to a package kill that possibility?

3. How about at kiosks in the parks?

1. Yes.
2. Nope.
3. Yes, but that would be true of ANY MYW ticket for any guest.

Thank you, but to clarify - Can I book FP+ for days ahead of my package check-in date? For instance, if I am due to check in on Sept 3rd, can I book a FP+ reservation using the package tickets on Sept 1st and 2nd?

Once the tickets are "activated" I'd say you can try.

All of this is so new and changeable (and so glitchy) that a straight "yes" or "no" is not
very reliable.

We need a lot more info, and even that info is subject to change as
they keep adjusting FP+ rules and re-writing the the MDE software.

Something that happened for guest A on date X may or may not hold for the next guest or on a later date.

I understand. Thank you.

Robo is right. When I went in November, I was told that the band's were already activated and I can just go straight to the parks. At the time that wasn't true. Instead, to be on the safe side, I went to guest relations in epcot with all my magic bands and licence. Because my pkg didn't start till the next day, they had to activate them early in order to get into the parks. It only took a few minutes and we had no problems at all. Things may have changed now that the band's have been out for a while.

This is still correct. If you have not checked into your reservation and your tickets are part of your package you MUST visit Guest Relations to pick up your tickets early. I do this several times a day still at DTD GR.
