OKAY SO. We are currently booked on free dining from way back in January. I am thinking about pushing out our dates. BUT, we have a package and the "old" ticket prices tickets. We are willing to lose free dining, because it would be a wash if we did sun and fun IF AND ONLY IF we didn't have to get "new" tickets. If we try to move our package to new dates/use the sun+fun offer, will we have to buy "new" tickets at the higher, "new" price?
I hope this made sense!

Any time you make a modification, you are subject to current pricing for any component of a reservation. Pricing is only guaranteed when you make a deposit on a room or package and make no modifications.

Assuming your current plans are for the fall or late summer and you're thinking of moving your dates to Jan/Feb of next year, AND there has been a price increase on tickets since you made your current reservation, then YES, you will pay the new ticket price.

No, I'd be pushing my dates out a couple of months into late summer/early fall of this year. I made my original package booking in January before ticket prices went up for this year.

I'm in the same situation. We have July dates booked with Free Dining. Not sure what to do, as I don't wan't to pay increased ticket costs and pay for a dining plan, if we rebook for fall.

Have you called and spoken to anyone by chance?

Unless your original reservation is during a time the parks are still closed, then moving your reservation will fall under the same changes as always and that means you will pay the new ticket price. If you wait and the parks are not open for your dates, then you may have some wiggle room, but from what we've seen, even then, you take whatever discount is offered or a full refund.

So... my ticket prices would go up...? I'm not really sure what your answer is.

Yes, if you modify your reservation, you are subject to current pricing at the time of the change. If ticket prices went up after you made your reservation and you modify now, you will be subject to the increased ticket costs. Short answer - yes.

Edited to add: you can simply go on the website and price out the package you want for the new dates. That will give you the price for the modified package. WDW will not grandfather in the previous ticket price.

No... is there history of them honoring the promo for other dates, for others??? I know they are making a free djning promo for those that already had their dates cancelled... but that doesn't cover July

Yeah it's like a full grand more.

I'm just super frustrated because the 60 day window for dates I'd look to move to is the last week of May. And it feels really frustrating having no idea if they'll be open or not, and risk potentially missing out on any good FPs in the name of keeping my package and hoping they move, or having to pay almost a thousand dollars more and know I get my 60 days+ FP.

No. Those that had to change due to the closure MIGHT have been honored if they didn't take the free dining promo, but I haven't kept up with what happened for those people. Some of the early reports were that people were having to pay whatever the prices are for their new trip, and for many, that price was higher. However, if they took the free dining promo, and ticket prices had gone up since their initial reservation, then they still pay the increased price because they are getting a discount with the free dining.

For now, anyone who has a trip in June or beyond and wants to change now, they are definitely under the normal rules of paying whatever it may cost (or not) to change that trip.

I completely understand your frustration. Perhaps wait it out a little longer since you have until the end of May to make those FP+. If they happen to extend the current free FD guest recovery promo into June, that could work to your advantage. If budget allows, you could also consider putting down the $200 deposit on the later package so you have it in place if things are still up in the air in May.

When is the trip you currently have booked?
