Package Price

We will be staying at RPH Jan 6-9 2011 and have booked a package for
$1,140. I priced out hotel and tickets seperatley and it was about $30 higher. Is the above price about right for 3 night stay at RPH and 2 day base tickets. I'm hoping it will be a little cheaper as it gets closer but not holding my breath. If room rates drop can you change package to room only and any money that you have paid so far goes to hotel room or if packages drop can you get a different package.
Anyone who has an idea of price at that time of year let me know please so I can hold a little hope.

If you book the package you cannot change your rates, if by chance 1 became available at a lower rate, you would have to cancel [not sure what the penalties are for this, or even if there is one] this is why most book room and but their own tickets separatly, you can then change to lower rates, and can cancel upto 5 days before arrival without any penalties

Melissa take a look at the dates and rates 2010 thread to get an idea of room prices for last year. This should help a bit in deciding. Personally, I would do it individually, as Robert says, since you can get your rates changed without penalty. You can also look for discounted tickets (possibly get one annual pass) at AAA, Maple Leaf tickets and places like Costco.

Annual passes will give you good discounts on hotels as well as food and merchandise in the parks. The preferred pass can also be renewed for $140.

Make sure you check your package for cancellation and room change penalties. The closer you get to your date, the higher the penalties become.

Since we have started to stay onsite we have always booked room seperately and sourced tickets elsewhere.
