I have been reading that now if you have a package shipped (we are planning on shipping 4 cases of water or so) to certain DVC resorts you will be charged $5 per package. Has anyone had this experience, particularly at Kidani? We have never shipped before, we usually use a service like Garden Grocer, but this time we have a few of us and we only need water because we are doing the Deluxe dining plan. This water will wind up costing a fortune, however it will be June and dehydration (or paying $2.50 a bottle is not an option)!

Any experience is greatly appreciated...i just want to know what to expect. I will also contact the resort, but you know how these things go, they say one thing, but often do another.

Does it have to be bottled water? The parks will give you cups of ice water for free if you ask. The water tastes fine.

I have never been charged a delivery charge at Kidani. I believe the charge applies to convention resorts like Boardwalk, Beach Club and Bay Lake Towers.

Yeah that's what I was think too. The reports i were reading were coming from BW, so your right. It must have to do with conventions, they must ship a ton of stuff forcing them to tack a fee.

Yeah...i am not a fan of the WDW water, i've tried it, about 50 times, even with a filtered bottle. Can't stand it, being from thr North we have great water, and even filter FL water taste weird to me- honestly I can't even drink the zephyrhills stuff :rotfl:.It's just a cost I need to incur lol.

Thanks for all your help!

Why not take a taxi by the time you ship it it will be heavy and just take a quick taxi ands by the water for less than $5 a case. Much less hassle.

Good suggestion if shipping costs are high, btw you will not be charged package fee at AKV according to DVC planner (only at DVC's with convention centers attached). Renting a car onsite for 24 hours is usually cheaper than taking taxi too.
:)

Are you by chance a member of Costco? If so, you can get water shipped to the resort with free delivery. We've done this numerous times with no problems at all.

As others have said, Kidani is not a convention resort, so the package fee does not apply there.

Thanks everyone...yes I think we are going to use Costco, it looks like the best price. If we don't incur a fee it will be very, very cheap!
