Package Delivery to rooms

Hi there,

I've researched quite a bit, but haven't found exactly the answer I'm looking for. I know you can get packages delivered to your room or they can be held for pick up.

So, my question is can I have a package sent to the AoA and have them open it and have the contents sitting on the bed or table prior to our arrival? It's my daughter's first trip to Disney and I am wanting to do like a welcome letter and stuffed animal or something and have it be from Mickey.

If so, how do I go about informing the cast members that I would like the shipping box opened and the contents displayed?

Thanks in advance!

**EDIT** Just to be clear, I am talking about having a box sent from my house, NOT from a park.

No. They don't do that. Maybe at Concierge at a Deluxe, but Not otherwise. Purchases are not even delivered to non Concierge rooms. They go to the Gift Shop to be picked up there

Before, the only way to possibly have that happen would be if you were staying Club Level. With the recent changes to IPO, I don't know if that is still possible. You can have a display delivered to your room via Disney Florist, but that will have to be done once you have physically checked into your room. It can't be done prior to your arrival as your room isn't really your room until you arrive and check in.

Thank you! I've looked at Disney Florist, and feel that their stuff is a bit tacky and overpriced for my taste.

I've read so many forums, but I can't remember where I read it. I saw that, for example, someone had shipped groceries to their resort prior to their arrival and upon arriving, they entered the room to find all the cold stuff put in the refrigerator.

I was hoping they could do something similar with my package.

Unfortunately, no they won't. Groceries are delivered to Bell Services and they will bring them to your room only if you are in the room. What you read was either embellished some or a fluke.

That's not true in my experience, I've had groceries delivered to my room after check in (while we were in the parks) on multiple occasions, all cold stuff put in the fridge etc and we've only ever stayed at Value resorts. In fact I think only once out of 5 or 6 trips where we've ordered groceries have we been in the room on delivery.

In dozens of trips where I have either used wegoshop.com (never again) and Garden Grocer I have always been in the room when groceries are delivered. I agree with @dansdad what you report is at best A rarity.

If Bell Services/Luggage Assistance is bringing your DME-related luggage anyway, they might also bring anything else being held. If that includes perishables, it simply makes sense to put those in the refrigerator. But generally, and aside from yellow-tagged DME bags, guests need to be in the room for any deliveries.

How strange - well I'll consider myself lucky :)

I've had groceries put in our fridge one time. We were staying at AoA and used Dizzy Dolphin. Any other time, groceries were held at Bell Service and I had to request delivery to our room.
