We haven't been to Disney in 4 years and everything has changed so much even this site! Back then we had a package deal through Disney travel which got our 7 nights stay for 5 people at the Boardwalk and park hopper plus tickets for our entire stay for $2000. Are there any packages like this still available? What about Disney VISA packages - we used those before. I'm not finding anything at all in this price range - everything is double! I'm not even sure if I'm on the right thread for this question. Maybe Disney doesn't over the deals like they used to. Thanks in advance.

I remember those packages. That's when Disney and other resorts were trying to recoup after 9/11. Lately Disney has been offering free dining, free ticket upgrades, etc. It all depends on when you're going.

The prices have increased pretty steadily over the years. Our vacation in 2006 was $3,065.00 for three adults and one child (9 night stay in moderate with dining plan with 7 day park hoppers). This year, we have just two adults and one child for the same exact package. The price this year is $3,334.58.

Go to www.disneyworld.com. In the search box put in Magic Your Way Packages. Your search should pull up several different packages. You can shop from there.

We booked our last trip with Dreams Unlimited Travel and paid around $2,100. for our family of 5 (2 adults, 3 kids under 10). Stayed at POR for 7 nights, had 7-day park hopper tix (no water parks or anything like that). Did free dining so that wasn't a factor in the price. Our trip was in Sept., value season, so that may have a lot to do with it, too.

Free Dining, by the way, has been offered the last two years - it ran mid-August through the end of September (typically peak hurricane season and kids heading back to school, so a "slower" time of year). Whether or not they do it again this year remains to be seen, but if you stick around here on the DIS, you WILL know when it's coming out!! I think last year it was announced sometime in April?

oh, don't know if I'd do last Aug. again. We were there for Hurricane Charlie. Luckily, it was our last 2 days of a 9 day trip, but it was a nightmare getting transportation home. But I will look out on these boards for the free dining and any other specials. There's no way we could do the trip without some kind of special offer.
