We have a week booked at the WL soon, the package included 7 days ticket, later as a free deal this was uograded to 14 days ticket.

Can we go the resort before we book in to the hotel to get our tickets and still have them added to the room key when we book in or do we have to use the extra days after we have checked out.

If you are going to the hotel you should just check in and get your room key with the tickets on it. It doesn't take that long to check in.

The tickets are good for 14 days from first use of the ticket.

I thought the longest MYW ticket was 10 days. Are there 14-day tickets available for purchase?

My understanding is that 14-day tickets are ONLY available outside of North America.

Andy is from the UK.. this 14 day offer is a UK promotion.

While the tickets can be separated from your reservation.. this is a very tricky thing, not every CM knows how to do it and there are some major caveots.

The biggest one is that once your tickets have been voided from your reservation, the WDW resort computers will not allow your room keys to be replaced or cancelled if lost or misplaced.

So if you lose your resort key after you actually DO check-in, that key cannot be re-issued. And it cannot be cancelled. So a key will be out there, with your dining package (if you have it) room charging priviledges (if you have them), and of course access to your actual room... and that lost key cannot be cancelled or replaced.

No fooling.

Correct

Again true.

Completely false. Outside of actual check out, there is no circumstance that does not allow for replacement of the KTTW.

See above. Perhaps you are confusing this with the fact that once the ticket is separated from the package, the ticket cannot be added back on to the KTTW at any time. But the KTTW is absolutely replaceable.

Thanks, some interesting and detailed answers, if we want to go to DIsney before we check in I may have to try the Hopper tickes we had the last time we visited, I think they were non expiry and I think we have 1 day remaining.

I may have mis-spoke slightly and I apologize.

Actually, perhaps the lost key can be replaced but the information that I have is that the lost key cannot be cancelled. This was explained to me in fine step-by-step detail by a concierge level host with LOTS of experience with this particular situation. I was dead sure that I was told the lost key cannot be reissued as well, but I may have misunderstood that part.

Of course they could issue a sequential numbered key I presume. So let's say you lose key # 02 and there are only 2 guests in the room, they could issue key # 03. But key # 02 cannot be cancelled. I'm not sure what happens if there are already four guests in the room.

So.. what I mean is that while you will still be able to get in to your room, the key that you lost still has charging priviledges and can still get into your room as well if god forbid, they can figure out which room it opens. So.. that's the bigger problem as I see it.

Can you confirm or deny that information?

[EDIT: Here's what I found out. I had understood it correctly.]
The problem with replacing the KTTW is once they reservation is checked in, the ticket entitlement on the KTTW cards is voided, leaving it empty. KTTW cards must have an entitlement in order to be printed, so if you attempt to re-print them, it will create a key with no entitlement associated. This corrupts the reservation, as the computer tries to query the entitlement any time the KTTW is accessed by the room system, and cannot do so.

I meant to add to the previous post...

I believe that the phrase " KTTW cards must have an entitlement in order to be printed, so if you attempt to re-print them, it will create a key with no entitlement associated." refers to package reservations only.. which is what we're talking about here.

Your source is correct as far as he/she goes. They don't tell you that there are ways around it.

Lobby Concierge can cancel and replace any ticket or room key as long as they have the id number from them. If they are a current or recent guest, they can pull that up from the desk. If not, the question has to go to Ticket Research and could take days, depending on how long ago and if it's a weekday or not. But it can be done.

There are ways they can work around almost any challenge although it can take some time and just the right people to make it happen, especially on weekends, and *most* especially on Sundays when the Package staff are less (or not) available.

The only clear and firm answer I can give is that Lobby Concierge *can* replace KTTW and other ticket media no matter how acquired. For current and recent guests, the id number from the media isn't required for an immediate replacement.

If a hotel guest does find themselves in a situation where they lost a ticket and LC can't promptly find the number to replace, LC can sell them a new ticket and then rebate the charge when and if they locate the original ticket data. As most guests use credit cards, this will often happen before the charge hits their bill.

I don't know if this helps, but back in March, I had booked everything separately, so we had a voucher for our MYW tickets. When we checked into the resort, we were issued our KTTWs and separate MYW passes. After a day or two, we found it a little inconvenient to be carrying around 2 cards each, so I enquired as to whether our passes could be transferred onto our KTTWs. Our passes were indeed transferred over, and we were able to keep the original passes as souveniers.

That can be done, unless you use the early ticket pick-up when the tickets are origionally part of the package.
