Hello
I really need your advice. I am hoping to book a package in the fall if free dining comes out. Normally we would just book a room but I can't pass up free food. :goodvibes

What is Disneys' cancellation policy without trip insurance? Does anyone know anything about Disney's trip insurance? Is it worth it?

I want to be able to cancel if I need to without losing the entire cost of the package. Between hurricanes, DH having a medical condition (is on a waiting list for a kidney transplant) and DS (who is not very independent) just going off to college, I want to cover all the bases.

Thank you in advance for any info.:goodvibes

It was cheaper for us to buy insurance privately from our insurance co. Do some research. You can but it up to the last minute. If I remember correctly you have 45 days from your vacation to cancel and you don't loose any money.

We booked a package through AAA and the opposite was true for us. Disney's insurance was less expensive than AAA. I have never bought insurance before but I figure it will assure us of perfect hurricane free weather and no health crisis. Two years ago, two days after the no penalty cancellation date I found out I had cancer. Travelled anyway bald and all because I am way to stubborn to lose any money on a trip.

We have used travelex for our past 2 WDW trips and they have more coverage for less money than the WDW insurance. If you have health issues or potential weather issues I thik it's well worth the peace of mind. I use a site called insure my trip. com and it gives you a chart comparing a bunch of policies. If you buy the policy within a few days (depends by company) there is no prexisting condition clause which may be helpful for you and we need it for my child who has asthma issues. We haven't needed it but it provides lots of extras in case of lost luggage or having to leave early, etc.

I looked at a website, maybe that one mentioned, and if I am not flying, it seemed like it didn't cover too much. Is that true of Disney's also?

I really only need coverage of the cancellation fees, and for the remainder of the trip/tickets if we would have to leave early.

Any thoughts?

I always use insuremytrip.com. They have insurance from many companies for you to choose from, and the rates are always better than Disney's or any TA's rates.

Hi-

Well Disney has upgraded their insurance to include airfare made on your own.

Mousesavers recommends insuremytrip.com. I think the site is good. I recommend asking for the nitty gritty on Disney's insurance and compare it to the policies on the web.

It sounds like you are most interested in trip interruption policy portion of a policy.

Good luck!

Anyone ever use this? It is free as long as you pay for the entire vacation with your card. Is this good??
