DD and I headed off to our "girls only" trip Friday morning. We're spending the first two nights at OKW then moving over our favorite "home" (BWV) on Sunday. Rather than bring pack all the stuff in our luggage for the plane ride down I thought I'd UPS it out to the Boardwalk..no later than early Wednesday, (according to the UPS store here).
Okay Disney.. experts.. What do I need on it.. obviously.. the Boardwalks address.. my name... Date of arrival.. (but I can't use Doa..augh!! I guess
"arrival date?" and...confirmation #?? Is two boxes okay? They're each, I think 18" x 18" x 18" (and so on)...... Is UPS the best??

We've stayed at OKW a couple of times before... but both times were different times of year. And also it was before Sarasota Springs opened. We'd like to take the Trumbo ferry over to DD one night... does OKW share it with SS.. and how often does it run? And how late?

Thanks for your help!
Linda
One week from tonight I'll be at the Hoop de do Revue!!

I can't answer the package questions, but I can answer about the boat to DTD. It runs once an hour from OKW to DTD and SSR. You can also walk to DTD via the path behind building 55 in about 12 minutes. THere are also buses from OKW to DTD, but they take a bit long.

Hi Moonmom,

I've sent packages for every trip we've made. You can go to the UPS website and get all the info you need for mailing. The website has really good info in so far as what day you will need to send your package in order to receive it on the date you want. The only problem I ever had with receivng my package was at the BW. I think because the BWI has the convention facility attached all packages addressed to BW must go to the package room there. Anyway, I did get the package, but, it took a few hours to track it down and I basically had to do the footwork myself (BW front desk wasn't very helpful in finding it) I printed out the receipt confirmation from UPS the evening before we left on our trip so I had that with me which helped track the package as received by someone at the BWI. Everywhere else I've sent a package (VWL and SSR) I've never had a problem receiving it. I just put the name of resort, Front Desk, and address. Then, down in the left corner of package I put "Please hold for" my name, check in date, and ressie #.

Ahhhhh.. ohhhh.... Hmmmm....??? And.... where does it come out at DTD?
We'll have a car... but I've always found parking Friday and Saturday nights there to be so difficult... part of the fun is nice not having to find a parking spot and do the "work"!
But walking could be an alternative. Is the path lit?
Thanks for your help...

Only two more sleeps!!!! (well... one more sleep and one "try to sleep!"

Thank you!! It looks I procrastinated too long. Darn. I should've asked early. I thought I'd be "safe" bringing it to our local UPS late Tuesday afternoon or early Wednesday morning but unless I want to pay more than what I paid for one way's airfare for one person the box won't be there til Monday...and we're moving over to the BW on Sunday. and that's if they find it at the BW.
Well... at least I'll know better for next time.. or someone else will know. I know! (Brilliant idea here!) Since you went thru all that trouble to explain.. .and since I have points left that I have to either bank or book or do something with .. I might as well plan another trip for the fall?? Right?
I mean.... then I could use your advice to ship a box ahead? And it won't be a wasted question and wasted advice?
And I'll have plenty of time to pack the box and get it to the UPS store! I can come home from this trip... and put the essential.. (you, the "must bring to Disney" things) right into it.
Hmmmm.... maybe..... October.... or late September?

Thanks again...
Linda

Actually, it runs once an hour in the midday and every half hour after 5PM. The walking path is NOT lit, and I wouldn't advise using it after dark. The bus or boat will be your best bet after dark. Maybe walk over (path ends either at CDS parking lot or behind Rainforest), and take the bus or boat back. I believe the boats run until 11.

I agree with Diane.....I wouldn't take the path after dark. It's a nice walk in early evening, but, it goes right next to the water and it's somewhat marshy in that area.....who knows what critters might be lurking there after dark!!!!!!
The path itself is paved nicely, but, lots of large landscaping and shrubbery in the area could be a lurking area for many animals (I would think a perfect area for snakes and maybe even alligators)
