We are flying Southwest, so I am packing lots of food items to take with us for breakfast in the room and snacks in the parks. So far for snacks I have fruit snacks, granola bar, individual packs of almonds, sqeeze fruit tubes, individual boxes of craisins and raisins. What else will pack and hold up well, both in the suitcase and in the backpack while in the parks? I am looking for specific brands/types.
Thanks!

Besides from the cracker types of snacks which would probably get crushed in a suitcase I think you have it covered. We drive down so the suitcase was never an issue, but in our backpack we carried veggie straws & goldfish and they held up really well.

Trail mix, and the little cheese discs coated in wax that don't require refrigeration.

I would be causios with the squeese fruit tubes - you don't want it to explode in the suitcase

We always bring the prepackaged rice krispie treats. It is a favorite snack for my kids and in a pinch they have eaten them for breakfast with a piece of fruit or yogurt.

We packed those plastic shoe box sized containers with our cracker type snacks. They are only a dollar or so at most places.

We are flying SW, too, and I am taking granola bars, trail mix, dried fruit, frosted mini wheats, applesauce pouches (like gogo squeeze), yogurt pouches (shelf stable, I think Horizon brand), bagels, and peanut butter. I also need to bring baby food, so I have a ton of those squeeze pouches, cheerios, yogurt drops, and puffs. I will probably bring some bananas inside a plastic shoe box to prevent bruising. Anything with the potential to explode will be inside a ziploc.

I am taking to DLR (staying offsite) next week, taking breakfast (hotel has a breakfast but I've never seen one offer anything but standard items almost all of which I'm allergic to) and just a little bit of snack food.

1. Allergy safe bagels
2. PB cups (as in PB in a single serve cup not the chocolate covered candy)
3. Canned Lays (think they are called Stackers), who knew pringles has wheat in them.
4. Cereal cups
5. Shelf Stable resealable almond milk boxes (I pack them in baggies but never had one leak)
6. Probably some kind of protein.
7. Coffee concentrate (for iced coffee) along with some splenda.
8. Some kind of cracker or microwave popcorn for a snack.
9. Allergy safe cookies

Mom is still deciding if she wants to take something or just eat at the free buffett for breakfast and she'll eat my snacks even though she's not allergic.

I used to take fruit or smoothie pouches and they never busted in the luggage, but I've now seen some that have been cut open. If any air, even a microscopic pin prick of air gets in, those things mold inside and you can't see it. It icks me out to think about eating them now. I just quit buying them. I did check the ones I had left and no mold so I don't think it's a huge issue but I just can't make myself eat them anymore.

I've taken all of these and more to WDW. I use some small plastic containers for smashable stuff, but the rest I just use baggies and then pack them in around other stuff as small stuff is easier to fit than the big square boxes.

trail mix, I like to mix my own with my girls favorite stuff to include dried banana slices and a mix of dried fruit, put into individual ziplock bags. Pretzels and goldfish crackers. I have a lot more on my list but since we are driving down in our RV and will have our fridge with us most of my list won't help you.

The individual cereal bowls would work well for you though, just pick up some milk in the food court and you can keep it in your fridge in your room.

Hi,

Here are some of my suggestions for snacks that I think have not been mentioned yet.
1. Slim Jims
2. pudding cups like tapioca. You can bring plastic spoons.
3.popcorn
4.Laughing cow cheese wedges

Have fun on your trip!

Thank you all for the ideas and insight. Off to the grocery store tomorrow!

What about flavorings for water too. Plus not sure where you're staying, but Ive read some amazing ideas about cooking in coffee pots - soup, hot chocolate. And microwaves - popcorn, Mac and cheese, frozen foods. Plus what about pepperoni and cheese sticks. The people on this board are very creative!

What about fruit leathers, nabisco makes plastic containers of cookies and crackers that have held up really well in our diaper bag that gets banged around, pretzels (you can buy the thicker, small sticks that would travel well), whole apples or oranges.
