I just confirmed with my parents that my son, daughter and I will join them in WDW this September! They go several times per year (are yearly pass holders) and we went last year (while I was pregnant with my 5 month old) and are getting to go again.

Last year we took the autotrain (we live in Virginia, so it was pretty hassle free) but this year I think we'll make the drive. DH can't go, but I *think* I can make it through driving on my own!

I am so pysched and the fact that it's just 2 1/2 months away is awesome. I'm already starting to make lists, work on the budget and get those ebay listings up to give a little extra fun money. My son loved the Japanese steak house last time (he calls it the "chop 'em up/cook 'em up place") and I know I want to do it again. I've got last year's Birnbaum book going and am looking at all the threads here to make the most of it.

Picture me doing a happy dance and you get the idea!

Great news for you!! We will also be going in September. It seems that I have been planning this trip for so long -- when I read in your post that September is only 2 1/2 months away I got very excited! I will be doing the happy dance with you!:Pinkbounc

We'll be there in September also.I 'll dance with you!!:jumping1:
April

Looks like we'll be heading there again... just went for 2 weeks in May but our DS (22 months) loved it so much that we just want him to experience it again....

We're addicted.

Have a great time!!! :)

Our family also loves Teppanyaki. Be forewarned that prices have gone up A LOT - DH says they need to add a $$$$ rating for this place now! What used to be included in your meal (soup, salad, ice cream) is now ala carte. Entrees have also gone up in price. And now they only offer chicken or shrimp for the kids meals so we had to order DS9 meat off the adult menu. When we were down in April one of the hostesses was telling us they had new management who raised the prices and a lot of people have complained. Place was still packed tho. And still GREAT food! We had Tom in April and then just again last week.

Wow, Jill, thanks for the update. I don't remember all that stuff being a la carte last November - I wonder if this "new management" has happened since then. I'll have to check it out - maybe I'll use this as an excuse to try someplace new. After all, many towns have similar types of places so it's not as if I could never have it again, you know?

Now, if I could convince my mom to go Moroccan for dinner...now that would be *cool*!

"Chop 'em up/Cook 'em up place"- that is so cute!

Have you ever done the Family Magic Tour? It is our favorite Disney memory.

See you in September (hmmm, that should be a song......):hyper:

The Moroccan place is great! I would highly recommend it! Have fun!

The Family MAgic Tour is offered daily (I think) at 10:00 and it takes a small group of children and their families on a treasure hunt through a few of the lands of the Magic Kingdom. If I remember correctly, the set up was that someone had stolen Captain Hook's hook and we had to follow the clues to get it back. The tour guide was incredible. She remembered every child's name, let everyone help and made each child feel special. I think it last about 1 1/2 hours and you learn things about the Magic Kingdom that you probably didn't know. You can call Disney World to reserve a spot and check allearsnet.com for a better description. We will do this again on our trip in December of 2005 for our 4 and 1 year olds.

I'm going to ruin the ending now.....so if you want to be surprised stop reading.

O.K., I warned you.....

The tour ends with a meet and greet with one of the characters. We had Mary Poppins who was great. We got a family picture with her and then she took the whole group to "It's a Small World." We went in through the back entrance and my daughter held her hand the whole time and got to sit next to her on the ride. She talked with an English accent for the rest of the day!
