Are this a staple in all the 1 & 2 bedroom villas or are they by request only? We are about to hit SSR for our first visit home and my youngest is 15 mths. It would be something that we will need.

:) Hi ,
They are in all the accommodations .
We also decided for our last trip to hire a full size crib from A Babys Best Friend as we travel from the uk for a 14 night stay at Old Key West .
The crib is delivered to Bell Services and assembles in 5 mins with no tools needed.
The bedding & mattress is fully sanitised , and they come and collect at the end of the trip.
Worth looking into - our baby slept like a dream .
It was $79 for 7 nights

Every room in every WDW (and DL) resort has a Pack and Play (P&P). We use them everytime we stay and have no issues. They have always been clean and reasonable. They provide clean Mickey-themed P&P sheets, but we usually bring our deluxe fleecy P&P sheet with us from home that has familiar smells to it. That way our girls always felt more comfy.

The resorts do have more permanent cribs if you need and request them. I'm not sure what the price is (if any). They also have free bed rails available for when your kids get older.

Hope that helps. Welcome to the DVC family!

Another FYI...We just stayed at the BWV in the spring, and when we got the pack-n-play out, it was absolutely disgusting. We immediately called housekeeping, & they promptly brought us another one, so should this ever happen to anyone, it seems they have more on hand. When they saw the one we had, they were more than apologetic.

Do the bedrails need to be requested in advance? We are staying in BCV studios for the first time and could definitely use some bed rails for our then-2 yr old. Will the bedrails fit on the sofa bed?

I believe the bedrails are the standard "fits all beds" ones you can get at Babies R Us. Just tell MS when you make your reservation and they will have them in the room for you when you check in. Or, you can call for them when you get there. I always like to do things like that ahead of time, so I know mine are reserved.

Same with highchairs. Love having the wood highchair in the room for the little one!

When my kids were little, I brought one of those toddler size inflatable (foot pump) beds for like 20 bucks at toys R us and put it on the floor- (Just an idea :) janis

We used Orlando Crib Rental during our last visit. They have new commerical full size cribs. It was $70 for the week including delivery and the nicest bedding I have ever seen. Great company. They brought it right to my room and set it up for me. No pieces.

We got two of Disney's cribs for our twins on our last visit. They were very nice and no problem at all to set up. We just called housekeeping and they brought them and the 2 highchairs right up. They even included some cute sheets with baby Mickey on them. There was no cost for the use of any of the equipment. The babies never realized they weren't in their own cribs from home.

We have stayed at SSR and OKW and both times requested cribs and a high chair on the ressie. Neither time they were in the room when we checked in - but a call to mousekeeping and they were both there in no time.

NOTE: The rooms do have pack and plays - but these are cribs you can request at no charge. They are not full size - more like mini cribs - but ALOT better than pack and plays. They are first come first serve - so if you can't get the 1st night call back again.

I once even had a mousekeeper tell me if I saw one in a hallway - to roll it in our room!!! Not really sure if I would do that - but they did say it was ok.

IMO: Pack and plays in hotels are germy - they may look clean - but really how do you clean one! How many kids have gummed the edges - threw up on the sides - or had a diaper leak. Yes, you can change the sheet - but that's it.

The cribs they provide are metal so I can clean that sucker down in no time.

As a side note - I am not a germaphob - just have spent a Disney vacation with a 2YO so sick from a germ she picked up there that it ended up in a night at the ER. Now - there is nothing I don't Lysol in the room!!!!
