Pacific Wharf transformation to San Fransokyo this summer

It’s a win because it looks like the birria tacos and sour dough are still going to be there.

With that said, Disney really picks the strangest things to use up park Cap Ex on. Save the money spent on this “upgrade” and put it towards revamping tomorrow land sooner, or hell, even just refurbishing some rides.

I wish they would stop spending money on things no one has asked for.

This HAS to be an attempt at boosting year round attendance at this park by pandering to a specific demographic. Otherwise the investment doesn't make sense. This area probably generates more spending than any other in the park. It's always packed full of people eating and drinking.

Oh, I guess I'm out of the loop. I'll have to check it out.

Well, it had a series on Disney Channle/XD but it has ended - it is VERY good though and is available on D+. There was also the recent Baymax! series on Disney+, which was a series of shorts centering on Baymax and his role as a personal healthcare companion. It does not have the rest of the team in them except for Hiro.

I love BH6 and would love to see more content for them. That's why I love this retheme since they are not changing any of the eateries. I would chain myself to the front of Pacific Wharf Cafe! 🤣 If heaven has a scent, that's it!

Well, it does have some of the BEST food in the parks! Actually, I haven't had those tacos either, but I may need to try if I can pry myself away from the Boudin sourdough.

Get a Sourdough round and dip it in the leftover birria consomme. Best of both worlds!

FYI, Boudin sourdough lasts well for a month or more in the freezer if you wrap it well. I live in the Bay Area and am in Boudin's loyalty program, so when I buy something at one of their cafe stores I get a free 1-lb. sourdough loaf each month. I cut it into thirds, wrap each section in foil, put them all in a couple layers of plastic bags, and pop the package into the freezer. Then I can take out a section and thaw it as needed. After a month or so, the cut edges start drying out, although the bread is still usable. Anyway, an idea for anyone who wants to "extend" their Disneyland visit by taking home some sourdough.

This is true of all fresh bakery bread. Hot tip: once it's thawed, to "refresh" it, preheat an oven to 350 and run the ENTIRE piece of bread under running water. Place directly on the oven rack for 5 minutes. It will look and taste like it was freshly baked when you take it out. It sounds so counterintuitive to wet bread like this, but it totally works!

This also works if you have fresh bread you've had sitting around for a few days that has gotten hard. Try it!

I finally got a chance to try the quesabirria tacos (super delicious, as advertised) and watched the workers painting the bridge with an orange paint (maybe primer? -- it was not the correct orange if they are trying to match the Golden Gate Bridge).

I thought the "San Fransokyo Public Works Department" signs were cute to advertise the bridge closure and area conversion, but having it the bridge closed was more inconvenient than I expected.
