Pacific Storm Maleficent - effect on the parks?

The waits were crazy (we left earlier in the afternoon). Matterhorn was 85 minutes, we walked on with single rider in the morning but with fastpass later on we still waited 20 minutes. Space was 85 at one point (it was down for a while). Big Thunder was down all morning. It was not a typical Sunday Morning!

There was thunder and lighting so everyone is hiding out in the animation building. There was an actual wait to get into beasts library lol!

I live about 12 miles south of DL and we have has some torrential rains at times today. It has been rainy, sunny, rainy, sunny, rainy, sunny....all day long. And it's cold and windy too! Seems like Anaheim got spared the worst of it. Seems it went further south than they expected and SD got hit HARD!

Well we went to the parks today and boy, you'd never know there was a cold rainstorm yesterday because it was sunny, warm and beautiful. And so CROWDED. Man. A 45 minute wait for Dumbo 20 minutes after the park opened. And that continued all day. We didn't ride too much today but still had fun.

I agree it was crowded Monday. It was sunny too! :sunny:

I went Saturday-Monday, but left on Sunday right before it started to rain as I had evening plans with friends. I knew Saturday was a grad night, so I expected it to be crowded but hoped the rain would scare off people Sunday. Nope! Monday, I also left about 4pm as my flight was at 7, but lines still were pretty long. Overall it wasn't as bad weather-wise as I was afraid of, but the crowds were worse than I expected!

The crowds were mentally exhausting. The rain did not keep anyone away. Our group had someone who went for her first time, and she said she had a good time but would never return because of the crowds. She never imagined struggling to stay together walking from place to place. I feel badly she experienced it like that.

I'm so sorry. That sounds awful. But unfortunately that's becoming the new normal.

Monday morning I even overheard two CMs working at a food cart discussing with each other about what could possibly be going on to make is so incredibly crazy. At that point I knew that this might be above the new normal. I've been at Halloween and Christmas time and I don't think I've ever experienced it quite like it was Monday.
