P&PD for a family friend / coworker please?

I just found out that a family friend / coworker who's been out sick recently was out sick for a bit more than just the flu. He's had a cough for several months, went in and discovered that not only is it pneumonia, but he's got thyroid cancer and they're afraid it may be lung cancer. :/ His older brother and I think a sister both were lost to lung cancer even though none of them smoke, so this has everyone upset.

I'd appreciate it if everyone could keep him (and my dad since he's my dad's best friend) in their thoughts. My dad is totally in denial that he may be about to lose his best friend, and I'm in denial that a family friend whose been around as long as I can remember is so sick.

My fathers best friend and flying buddy (who is ALSO an MD) was in denial until 6 hours before my dad died. I think my dad's death was harder on him than the rest of us who had been dealing with the reality that it was indeed going to happen soon.....

this man was a wreck at the funeral. It broke my heart. Seeing my dad's best friend hunched over and so so sad.

I'll say a special prayer for your dad. It sounds like he might need one.
