P.O.T.C. On Stranger Rides! The Missing Chapter,,Final Thoughts,, Preview Thoughts.

hey Nebo and Smidge...

I kinda fell off the Dis Wagon into Real Life Syndrome and havent been around the past few months but just came back a couple of weeks ago and first order of business was to finish your TR.

W.O.W...thats all that comes to mind right now. I am so happy you are safe and that you showed that 'beast' whats what!

Happy Birthdays, Merry Christmas & Happy New Year, Happy Have a Heart Day and coming soon, Merry Drink a Green Beer Day! Hope I covered all I missed!

I am also so happy you get to go back so soon (Apr/May?) and then back with your sweetiepie of a grandson (I am hoping I have this correct, since in the midst of needing to know immediately what the next chapter had in store, I kinda 'scanned' real quickly past the responses)...cant wait for both of those reports! :woohoo:

I can finally post!!! :worship:

Just wanted to say good bye for now to everyone and hope to see you all for the next Nebo TR. Thanks for all the laughs and good times. It would be great if we could all meet up one day. But for now we can just be imaginary friends. :goodvibes

I need to change my ticker. Free dining came out on Monday and I called and got it but had to switch to CSR. Didn't want to do Pop cause then it's only the quick service dining and we like our TS's. So DH and I will be there 9/16 - 9/21 at CSR, free dining with six day base tickets. If anyone will be there the same time, let me know as I'd love to meet a Disser!

I think you will love it there, that's why we are going back for the 4th time next month.

I would never call you a dope, dope. But you know, never thought about writing it on a post-it. :scratchin You might have something there.

If you really have no idea what I'm talking about, a bookmark is saving the link to a web page. They come in handy when reading threads like yours that have over 100 pages. :surfweb: Like your August TR that will be coming up. Lady H and I may be in DL when you start writing it. If you're on page 25, we leave and come back to find out you're already on page 52, then I don't have to try to remember where I left off.

Ok, so how do I go about "bookmarking" a page?
Really, what would I have to do?

A lot depends on the type of internet browser you are using (Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Firefox, etc.). I use mostly Chrome at home and at work. So if using Chrome for example: At the very top of the screen, you can see where it says Chrome, followed by File, Edit, View, History Bookmarks, Window, Help. I know Safari and Firefox follow this certain pattern as well. Internet Explorer is a little different.

So using Chrome, the instructions would go like this:

Click on Bookmarks.
then Bookmark This Page
You will get a pop up window where you can change the name and location. So for instance, I changed the name to: Nebo's Current TR.
After I named it, I just hit done and it saves the link to the current page I'm viewing at the current time.

After I've saved it, and I want to go back and read it; then I will click on Bookmarks again, and then click on Nebo's Current TR. It will take me to that page.

If you use Internet Explorer, let me know and I will send you a PM on how to add them. It's a little more complicated on Internet Explorer for some reason. Probably because they've changed formats a couple of times that I've noticed. Plus I'm at work and use a Mac at work. I don't have Explorer on this computer. I have it on my home computer and can give you better instructions once I'm on that computer.

Oh and forgot to mention, when I named it, I would also include the page number I was on. So for me it was: Nebo's Current TR pg. 100.

I will send you a pm on how to delete them as well. Or post on this later. Almost time to leave work. They can start adding up after a while.

I'm using Google Chrome and it must be a different version than yours, all I have to do is click on the star in the address bar window to add a favorite. i don't even have all that other stuff :confused3 Maybe I just don't have the tool bar!? I'm curious though, why don't you just go to your subscribed threads under your user CP and click on the thread. Then click on View First Unread to go to where you left off?

Sorry to hijack Nebo :3dglasses

It won't necessairly say bookmark. For instance I use Internet Explorer and on my screen you need to click on 'Favorites' then click 'Add to favorites' then 'Add' to bookmark a page.

Easy Peasy...

Thank you Smidgy :) It's been a loooooong road so I'm super excited to be in the home stretch! I'll keep you posted on my Disney dates so if we happen to be there at the same time you can call me if nebo needs patching up :lmao:

As I said, I was doing it at work. At work I do it on a Mac. And that's how it shows up on the Mac. Now at home on my HP, I don't have those. But yeah, technically I just have to click on the star to and add a bookmark.

I have subscribed to the thread. When I know I won't be around for a while, then I bookmark the last page I read. Before I would come back to the TR and have to remember what page I read last. Often times I would land up reading the same pages 2 or 3 times just figure out where I was. So I started using bookmarks to remember where I left off.

Yes, I'm going to laugh. :lmao: Ok. Now back to being serious.

AOL is your service provider. If you are using a pc, then mostly likely your browser is Internet Explorer. If so, then just do what orangecats2 said.

This made me laugh out loud at work. Thanks for getting me in trouble. :rotfl:

My DMom always said trouble was my middle name.

Whoopsie. Looks like I gave T-Man a seizure.

:rotfl2:
That's almost as good as your Nebo parting the water shot.

Two hours of work is only slightly better than 5 minutes worth... just doesn't seem worth it. ;)

Yeah, but this one is a little creepier.

Creepier? Yup. Especially if you have coulrophobia. But a definite improvement, don't you think? :rolleyes1

Hands up everybody who just googled 'coulrophobia'!

Ok, I do have the favorites icon,,, but that's like looking for a Zebra Dome in a haystack,,I hate having to go into favorites,,,, I think I'll stick with my post it notes on the bottom of the monitor!

Oh , and Hi to Heathers4um, glad you made it back,, ditto
to Hushupu,,,, one of the great screen names.

Know what?

Getting old is a cruel thing.
Ok, let's change that, getting older, is a cruel thing.

I know my body is starting to fall apart, but my brain still
feels the same as when I was twenty.

I'm sititing here messing around on the Dis and I punched in
a lot of music wave files to listen to,,,all songs I downloaded a long time ago,,,and I was just listening to
Mean Mistreater, by Grand Funk, and I was transported back to my buddy Cork's basement where we hung out and played music back in '71.

That's over 40 years ago and I can picture it perfectly!
This was followed by July Morning,,Uriah Heep, same time period.

And after that I had punched in a bunch of pop songs from a CD I burned to listen to on the way down that included bands we were going to hear at Epcot that trip,,,
Associatiion,, Davey Jones and B.J. Thomas.

But that, too, was for a trip in '06, May, and as it turned out, this trip wound up being my very first trip report, that I butchered terribly.

So tell me, how in the world did almost six years go by since then?

And then our jobs closed down, we were out of work and we found where we wanted to live in Vista Del Lago, "Hey, if we have to start over anyway,,,,,,"

Until we found out how much our house lost in value,,,,
that is still going down!

I also refuse to admit just yet that I won't ever get there,
I just keep hoping that my one son get's transfered down there,, THEN we can maybe move down,, and our other son will feel left out and join us. :happytv:

So, after 19 trips down, these trips have become just as important to us, since we aren't sitting by the Vista pool deciding to go over to Biergarten for dinner like we should be doing by now.

I have to admit, it is getting tougher to come up with fun, stupid things and ways to annoy Smidgy as the trips add up, like making her listen to the cd I mentioned, or like last year when she had to name all 10 princesses,,, or,, remember the time I downloaded over 60 movie quotes and put them on a disk,, she had to name the movie before the next quote started.
Heck, that one got us through half of Georgia when she kept making me go back after we went through it once keeping score.

I think after songs and movie theme music and quotes combined, there was 57 tracks on that cd,,, and she scored a lowly 29. How can you not know where "Badges? We don't need no stinkin' badges" comes from?

So, as I said,,, yeah,, gettin older,,, but there still is great news, and I mean that,,,,, GREAT news!

You see, even though I'm going to be pushing 60, I still have the mind of a child!

Hmm,, maybe that didn't come out right.

No, I can't make new cd's anymore,,, it's illegal to download from the free sites and I'm not paying a buck 29 for a song that will mostly onlly be played by me on the computer till I get sick of it again,,,,,

but instead for our upcoming trip, I put all the Coronado Springs pictures I have in the computer into one file and made that the screen saver.

I also took out the Vista picture on the Desktop background and put the same file there,,, so every time we sign on we'll see Coronado then.
I know, it's not much, but it's something.

Oh, breaking news:
We are considering driving down for our August, Todd and Kim and Jackson trip,, which of course is,,,,,
altogether now,,,,, HURRICANE SEASON!

Does history repeat itself?

not if it knows what's good for it!

New betting pool for "how many times will Nebo draw blood"? Or, should we start a "how many repairs will the SUV need" pool?

Ah, I see the Lizzy Borden tag team mother and daughter from Indiana are still looking for more blood,,,

anyway,, I just read all 9 pages of the firestorm thread about Test Track that our beloved Jakeybake started,, it must have set a record,,, for the most posts the first day of being posted,,, there were posts coming in during the same MINUTE!,,, and then,,, it stopped.

But I really liked something Jay said near the end of the thread, and I copied it to paste here,,,, now, if I can only find it,,,, crap,,,OH, wait,,, I think here it is:

This is all based on the vague changes Disney first said concerning Test Track, when the shut down and refurb was first announced: Go , Jay

I do understand the need to clean up and revamp the queue area. That being said I just don't understand the constant need to update rides that are super popular. I guess I'm a bit of a sentimental sort but I like the familiarity that comes with riding my favorite rides. It's a nice feeling (at least for me) to return each year and have my brain be flooded with memories of prior experiences. The constant need to change seems to take away one of the very things that makes Disney special, memories!

Again I am probably on an island someplace in regards to this but I do like somethings to stay the way they are/were.

Wow, doesn't that fit into what I was saying before?

Thanks Jay,,, sometimes I can't let good lines die in obscurity once a thread goes dormant.

Oh dear, maybe you should reconsider August. So much nicer in December, really, much more pleasant!
Honestly, we just had our roof replaced from the Hurricanes in 2004, so our insurance company might not like us much if Hurricane Nebo hits! :scared1:
