"P" Exchange Sent/Received

I can't belive my package hasn't gotten there yet!

It may have arrived but they have left for WDW. So it may be awhile before we hear from them.

ok...I've just got to say....

THIS IS SOOOOO COOOOL!!!!! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

It's just before 2 and the doorbell rings. I yell at DS (3) to get away from the front door. (He loves to answer the door, even when I'm not nearby. It's a race thing he has with his sister (6), you know, got to get there first. ) Anyway, I get to the door just in time to see the UPS guy get back into his truck, wave and leave. I look outside and what do I see but a large box with my name on it. YIPPEE!! I'm :jumping2: it's my 'P' box. DS and I take the box inside. Boy it's heavy, DS is excited saying "mommy it's your package." I eagerly open it up to find:

Note from WEBMASTER BARRY telling me have fun with my 'P' exchange.

Lots of letter 'P's' printed out on 'P'aper

every kind of brochure that 'P'ublix must have printed, including one on Hurrican Safety. (keep reading why I found this funny)

'P'riority mail boxes

'P'riority mail labels

a 'P'ublix flier (good to know what the prices are down there:D )

a 'P'irates Dinner Adventure brochure

still laughing about this one: a current issue of a certain adult magazine that begins with the letter 'P' ;)

a 2ltr. bottle of 'P'epsi :drinking:

cans of 'P'ublix "Holy Hurricane Food" : sliced 'P'ineapple; yellow cling 'P'eaches; bartlet 'P'ear slices; green sweet 'P'eas; and 'P'ork and beans

2 rolls of 'P'ublix 'p'aper towels (how did you know I completely ran out of these and desperetly needed more  )

and the best of all.....

a DIS MEET 2003 DVD, with a note inside of it that said: "OK, so it doesn't start with p, but enjoy it anyway!"

I must admit, I was torn as to what to do first....call DH and tell him about this COOL package and the adult magazine in it ;) , pop in the DVD and watch it, or log on and post what I just received.....you guys won out.

WebmasterBarry, can't thank you enough....you've made me laugh, besides making my day!!!!

Thanks again!!

Ummm..........as you and your 3 year old were opening the box, I hope he didn't find the magazine first and browse through it before you realized he had it!!  too funny :rotfl: :teeth: :rotfl:

We just have 11 packages left to arrive. We're doing good folks!

A couple of packages should have already been received so please don't forget to post when you get yours.

And then there are two people that left yesterday for WDW so it will be awhile before we hear from them.

No he didn't...the magazine was packed on the side of the box, and after glancing into the box, he lost interest and ran off to the bathroom. (It's so nice he's toilet trained. :) )

I spoke to DH, he called dibs on the magazine. He does admit this is pretty neat. Thinks the Pepsi might be flat though. We'll find out in a few days...seems we are running low on that too. DH was excited about the paper towels. Like I said, we ran out last week I haven't had the chance to pick up more. DH wanted to know if I posted that he's been on my case about that and how at least he can count on a total stranger from the DISboards to come through and restock our house with paper towels.

My turn!!

UPS also left a big, heavy box of "P" on my doorstep today......hehehe

From kimber79

She was going to give it to me in Chicago, but she got sick and couldn't make it :( I really missed meeting her.

I have a question/comment about the exchanges. I feel really bad about this. I have only participated in two. This one and The N exchange with my son. We have really enjoyed it, but both have stated that the spending limit is $5.00,which both times I have gone over by a little bit. Reading a lot of the Received posts, I have noticed that a good number of people are spending a lot more than $5.00. I just feel badly that the person we sent to didn't receive as much as some other people. Is the $5.00 limit just a general guideline, a minimum to spend, or is it just up to the individual? Just wondering

Hi dina I sent you a PM.

To most of us it is the thought that counts, not the contents of the package. ::yes::

I wouldn't let it bother you. We set the limit at $5 in the alphabet exchange because of the number of exchanges involved and we wanted to give everyone an opportunity to play without breaking anyone's pocketbook. I have to stick to the limit because that's all I can afford. I know that if the limit had been set higher, I would have had to of been choosey about which letters to do and my daughter definately would not have been able to play.

Needless to say, going over the limit is up to the player. No one, as far as I know, has complained that they felt shortchanged by receiving a package by someone that held to the price limit.

I enjoy participating in these exchanges because I enjoy buying gifts for people. And I'm sure that's how everyone else feels too. It's in the giving not the receiving that we enjoy most (though it's fun to receive something in the mail besides junk or bills :teeth: ).

And by the way, we are down to seven left to receive! :hyper:

And then there were six!

The postman dropped a package off at my house today from fluffernutter. Inside was:

a monthly Planner
Pistachios (I'll have to hide these)
a Plush bead with Perfume
dried Papaya
Purim jelly Pops

Thanks so much Marcy!

I got mail today from Lizdotcom99!! She sent me a fun package starting with a Parrot card, a Perfection game,Pet note Pad and best of all a Pre-Paid Phone card that I will be sending to Iraq!! Thanks again for all the great items and my DS sends his thanks for the Phone card!!!

Please don't worry about what you send, many of us have been doing this for quite a while and already have things that we pick-up on sale or send samples of items we get!!! I don't think anyone is doing this for the "loot" . Its just a fun way to make some new friends and see how much imagination other have!! I have as much fun reading to posts of what others get to worry about what I was sent!! Please keep playing!!

Quick plug here for a couple of exchanges that are having sign-ups now!!

Nutsy is hosting the post card exchange. That has always been great fun!! Third year for it.

I am hosting the regional cookbook exchange. Also great fun. Second year for it.

So, if you are interested....please sign up! You have until Wed. on both, I believe.

Hey, Nancy! I believe you have another exchange starting soon too. Might want to give a plug about it also.

I got:

Pop Rocks
Puff Pastry Cookies
Payday candy bar
A bunch of pixie sticks
4 pencils
