P C Highway

We're thinking about driving along the coast (maybe ending up around Laguna Beach) after we get into LAX tomorrow around noon.

Is driving to Long Beach and then heading down the Pacific Coast Highway a good idea? Is traffic insane or tolerable (I guess that's all relative, right?!) Any other suggestions?

It will be a very long drive... Lots of stop and go and lots of stop lights...


But it can be a nice drive. PCH changes names along the way also. so make sure that you have a current map.. and know where you want to end up..

OP, this is also how i remember the "PCH" (or highway 1) south of LA.

fwiw, the PCH from Santa Monica to Oxnard & also from Morro Bay to Monterey are both the "traditional" pretty beach side drives that you might be looking for. But both are far north of DLR.
