Ozark season 4

Yes! I had to go look it up after seeing this. Can't wait! We just finished season 3 of You and I'm rewatching Dead to Me with DH because he hadn't seen it yet.
My DH keeps asking me for shows to watch. I forgot about Dead to Me. I think he will like it.

I was hoping this thread would show up again after the final episodes were released. I wasn't 100% happy with the final episode, a couple moments seemed a bit rushed, and I won't spoil the rest.

Something that bothered me about season 1: So as it turns out, Del was originally just fishing to see if anyone was skimming money at Marty's firm, he didn't have any real idea that any theft was being committed. And before it's revealed that Marty's partner Bruce was skimming, I thought it was pretty bold for Del to kill Bruce's girlfriend just to throw his weight around.

Springer Final Thought: I like that many of the characters are flawed, nobody's perfect. Though Marty, I don't feel he is as deserving of the bad rep he gets as much as Wendy, who seems more cutthroat (and she's a great character to watch, when she acts smug and smarmy with people). Marty and Wendy both want their family to stay safe, but Marty seems more capable of working towards mutual benefit with others (The Snells, Ruth, KC Mafia, etc). He could have had the cartel muscle in on the so much of his opposition, but he always preferred to diplomatically talk them into a business relationship.

I like that Marty continuously granted Ruth raises and higher positions as well. Not saying that Marty is totally excused for all his actions, though the show does it's job to keep tensions high enough to place him in positions where he has to opt for a decision that may not be noble, but ultimately protects his family. (Much like how Walter White led stray in Breaking Bad.)

Marty still had some humanity. Wendy had none left, if she ever did.

I was satisfied with the ending.

I agree that Marty was likable no matter what he did because he still had a shred of humanity. Wendy seems like she never had any, though her ruthlessness got them out of some sticky situations.

I was also satisfied with the ending. It tied more things up than I thought it would, but I can see why others out there may question things.

The one thing I didn’t like was it seemed like they had a lot to throw in there and not enough episodes to do it. There just seemed like there were a lot of little things or things they could’ve played out a little better.

All in all I liked it though. Didn’t like some of the outcomes but still glad it was pretty much all tied up (well in my eyes but I’ve seen a lot of differing on that).

I agree Marty was definitely the better of the two. Wendy was souless in my opinion. I wasn't crazy about the ending, but I get why it ended the way it did. This was one of my favorite shows, sad to see it end.

Absolutely agree - would go so farther but dont want to be a spoiler ...

Another thing that occurs to me about Wendy is how easily she shifts blame to others. Like how a certain character’s demise was Ruth’s fault. Or, during the multiple times when fighting with Marty, to Wendy, he’s always the one in the wrong. Other time she‘ll outright admit to lying without a shred of remorse.

Just finished it tonight. Was happy with the ending. Good to see some of the deceased/characters from season 1 back, as well as John Boy Walton. All in all, I felt it was a really good show with tons of twists and turns. I loved Marty the whole way through and I loved that he had a soft spot for Ruth. Wendy, while ruthless, was fun to watch how she would get them out of certain situations and how she manipulated and calculated all the time.

I wasn't happy with how the series ended- at least not part of it, but won't say more in case someone hasn't seen it yet. I also hated Wendy all the way through; what a manipulator, at best.

DH brought up an interesting question, though: Have they left a window open, just in case they decide to make more episodes? Screen goes dark... shot rings out. Do we really know who pulled what trigger, and if the shot hit the target? If not more episodes, maybe a spin-off?

A lot of people asked that but apparently the "show" itself confirmed that it is what actually happened. Of course, give it another 5 years and they'll decide it's something else!

Jason Bateman did say that they didn't want to overstay their welcome by keeping the series going on longer. There could always be a Better Call Saul type spinoff, but I have no clue who would be the focus since so many people have been killed. Unless they do a back story, but life didn't get interesting for most parties involved until the Byrdes arrived.

Show became very tedious to watch. Considered just reading synopses instead of watching. Finished it last night. Didn't at all like the end. Wished the foreshadowing from the first episode of the season had been the ending. Best actor on the whole show was the guy who played Ben. He was really great.
