Owners Lockers

I have one. It is very nice if you have items that you don't want to haul to the resorts every trip. I have a coffee maker (k-cups), bath items, shelf stable grocery items and some clothing in mine.

Love my OL - we drive but it’s still so handy to use for Disney specific clothes and rain gear, zip lock bags, full size toiletries and OTC meds, charging cables, batteries, tape, foil, Disney Tervis cups, cooking spray, sewing kit, scissors, etc.

Love mine too. In addition to what has already been mentioned, I keep my Minnie Fanny packs, extra Minnie ears, salt filled grinder, pepper filled grinder and laundry detergent pods. It fills up fast.

How does this work? Are the bins delivered to your resort?

Yes, you go on the website and tell them where you want it dropped off and where you want it picked up (if different). There is a drop down list of hotels and some are even non-Disney hotels. We had ours delivered to Hilton Grand Vacation Club locations when we ran out of our DVC points and stayed offsite.

We have OTC meds, bandaids, scissors, note pads, pens and other items that we need "sometimes" but not always and easily forget to pack. We keep Disney visors and hats there too - we wear them only at WDW, so why carry them back and forth every time?

We also stay at offsite resorts, and we don't always know what we'll find there, plus I'm picky about what shampoo I use. So we have a shower caddy that attaches to the shower stall wall to hold the fullsize bottles of shampoo and shower soap that we keep in the OL, and we keep a fullsize tube of toothpaste and a fullsize bottle of body lotion as well. And for the kitchen, good cutting knives! As above, it allows us to travel with much less luggage.

Yes, and thanks for reminding me - we just booked a stay at Silver Lake for December, so I need to go to our OL Dashboard and enter the dates for drop off and pickup!

If you have one, how many times a year do you go? We joined DVC in 2020 and it seems that we will likely go twice a year (hopefully.) Have a June trip booked as of now and that may be the only one this year due to schedules. Does it make sense financially to have an OL if you only go 1-2 x per year?

It might not make sense financially, but if that's your criteria, Disney might not be a great choice overall. It's not like any of my things are that expensive or MUST HAVES or that I couldn't bring and trash a dollar store nightlight. To me, it's a convenience thing because most of my packing is already done. Swimsuits, flip flops, bathroom stuff, park stuff like ponchos and a park backpack.

Also, I am NEVER checking a bag into MCO again after how it went in 2021. I'd buy the stuff in a grocery drop off and trash it before I'd check bags again.

Edit: Now that I think about it, a lot of it is pretty junky. Old swimsuits and pajamas and backpacks and such. Even my park shoes are old running shoes. But it's better than lugging pajamas and swimsuits around every trip! If my OL went missing, I think the most financially valuable thing in there is the Minnie ears.

Avid OL fan here! I'd say if it's a once a year situation, it might not be worth it. We go twice per year...but when you're a DVC member additional trips do seem to pop up;)

By the way the customers service at OL is 5 star!

We just used ours for the first time in December... filled it up with most of what was mentioned above.
The goal is to never check a bag... just carry ons. That alone will save $60 per person each trip for us.

We go at least twice a year. While I get free checked bags from Delta, I still like having all the stuff there and cutting down on stuff schlepped back and forth. Full-sized toiletries and things we always seem to forget are kept in there too. Ponchos, umbrellas, etc. are always handy as well. Well worth the money

Yes, even though we get free checked bags with United, we never check them as DH hates baggage claim after an experience years ago. I love the idea of having the umbrella and ponchos, and full sized toiletries being there. Thanks to everyone for their great input! Looks like we will get one for June :)

We signed up with the AP discount recently and can't wait to try it out! We took a box similar in size and did a quick dry run. It will save an extra suitcase of items we drag back and forth. We have two trips lined up already!

I am signed up and we are going in a week! I haven't decided if I should ask for our OL to be delivered though. I want to, so we can fill it up before our November trip when the kids are coming and taking less stuff with us would be ideal. But I am worried because we are resort hopping basically our entire stay, BWV to AKV to SSR Studio to SSR 1BR. I saw on here that you can have them collect at a different resort, but do I just have bell services move the locker and our carry on bag each time?

Sorry to semi-hijack, but maybe it's something OP will find useful too.

As to the OP, I am excited to use it and at the very least the DVC discount on the first year makes it a fairly low risk thing to try yourself.

Yes, I and always tip on both ends, that's how they get paid. You have Bell Services pick up your items. OL, suitcase, booster seat, whatever. I have a collapsible duffel in mine so I can configure my bags to just be OL and big duffel. So, now that I think about it, the most expensive thing in my OL is actually luggage.

I split stay all the time, maybe annoyingly so. I had one transfer not show up until 6PM, which was annoying, but it usually earlier than that.

Thank you so much! I will definitely be ready with the tips. Resort hopping isn't something I got into DVC thinking I would do, but after setting up this first resort hopping heavy trip, I am really excited to stay at all these resorts.

That's how we stocked ours initially. I got a heavy duty moving box from Home Depot, sized just smaller than an OL and we filled it over the course of a month or so. Ended up cutting it down in size a little at the end and took it as a checked bag on a trip.
