We are going for our first trip home to AKV in August. We registered to Owners Locker. But, when scheduling our first visit, I saw there was "Disney's Animal Kingdom Jambo House" and "Disney's Animal Kingdom Jambo House Villas" :confused3 what is the difference between the two? We are staying in a DVC Studio at Jambo

Thanks!

I believe it is the difference between the AKL and AKV.... Lodge is not DVC and Villas is...

"Jambo House" is the regular Disney resort part of AKL and "Jambo House Villas" is the DVC part of AKL. You would be staying at "Animal Kingdom Lodge Jambo House VIllas."

I don't know why both would be listed. AKL and AKV Jambo House are both in the same building and share the same Bell Services and storage area. AKV Kidani is a separate building so it needs a separate listing.

Owners Locker has 3 delivery options for the Animal Kingdom units. "Disney's Animal Kingdom Jambo House" would be for any guests staying at AKL but not in a DVC villa. "Disney's Animal Kingdom Jambo House Villas" would be the option for any guests staying in a DVC villa within the Jambo House complex and "Disney's Animal Kingdom Kidani Villas" would be for any guests staying in a villa in the Kidani complex.

For your reservation, I'd select "Disney's Animal Kingdom Jambo House Villas". The designations just allow the Bell staff to better locate and track your locker. All of the Jambo House deliveries will be in the same storage facility at that location and Kidani has it's own storage area.

You'll love having that locker! :)

thanks for asking...great question.
The main Animal Kingdom Lodge is now (sort of) being referred to as Jambo House. The main Disney website still call it Animal Kingdom Lodge, but all of the signs now say Jambo House.

They do indeed have one check-in desk and one luggage room at Jambo House, BUT, the computer systems treat Jambo House and Jambo House Villas (the DVC rooms) as separate resorts. So, to make things run smoothly with the resort, we need to specify whether you are staying at Jambo House or Jambo House Villas. It's the same at Beach Club, Boardwalk and Wilderness Lodge which are also "mixed" resorts.

Not sure why they have separate computer systems...maybe it's for splitting costs.

Hope this makes sense!

In my opinion, just another reason why Owners locker is so good. They are focused on serving their customers AND partners needs. They could have certainly just set up one, and made the resort (or drivers) deal with it, but they focused on service to the resort staff as well. I'm sure it gets them a much better reception than if they had lumped it all into a single resort and let bell services figure it out.
