this will be our first time using an OL
since we will be using DME, so luggage is left in the room whether we are there or not.
but what about the OL? do we wait until we know we will be in the room for a while, and call bell services to bring it up? (we rent a car at the dolphin, so usually check-in, then off to grocery shop, etc, and come back around 5-6pm to go to EPCOT - we spend little time in the room on our first day).

and i assume we just give it to bell services with our luggage (using RAC) upon departure....?

we're really looking foward to our OL and less packing in the future ;)
TIA

You are correct - you luggage from DME will appear in your room since it is not handled by Bell Services.

You are correct - you will need to call Bell Services to get your OL, and must be in the room when delivered, or they will not leave it.

You are correct - leave the OL with Bell Services when leaving.

Have a great time! :wizard:

Bell Services will not deliver your OL to your room unless you are in the room. So, call them as soon as you get to your room and let them know you want the OL asap. That way you shouldn't be waiting too long for it to show up.
I usually have Bell Services come to the room and remove it at the end of our stay. It's just too darn heavy for me to lift!!!

okay, so one more...how much does one tip (in addition to the luggage, of course;)) for a heavy OL?
thanks:)

I usually have a regular sized piece of luggage as well as two carryon pieces, in addition to my OL. I tip about $5-8 then. If the whole family (3 of us), is there, that adds about 3 pieces of luggage, so I tip $10 then.

If it's just the OL, then about $4-5...depending on what cash I have handy.

I don't want to hijack your post but I have a question about OL and split stays...what happens when you switch resorts and you use a taxi to move yourselves and your luggage...do you take the OL with you or have them pick it up and redeliver it??
sorry and thanks.

whats an owners locker?

An Owners Locker is a little piece of heaven on Earth:

http://www.ownerslocker.com/lockers/

It is a large storage bin that you buy then rent space for to leave in Florida. There is a small annual fee but you just leave all of your Florida junk IN Florida and have it delivered to you whenever you visit!! LOVE it!! We can now travel in just carry-ons to FL!! We leave ponchos, umbrellas, toiletries, booze, flip flops, backpacks, pool bags & coolers, paper plates, coffee filters, batteries, spray fan bottles ETC. down there!!! No more over packing!! No more luggage fees on the airlines!! No more waiting for luggage!!:thumbsup2

whats an owners locker?

The best travel item EVER! :goodvibes

Our family of 4 just spent 9 days in WDW with only carry on luggage thanks to our OL. No bag fees from the airlines. No waiting at baggage claim for our stuff & with Alamo's on-line check in, we got off the plane, walked straight to the garage, got in a car & away we went. It was GREAT!

whats an owners locker?

I posted this on the OL site a while back, and i think on the boards here too... but i figured i'd post it again...Just one of many reasons to consider having a locker. In addition, don't forget to meet John on Tuesdays in france in EPCOT. :thumbsup2

"Hello
First of all, i can't say enough good things about this service! We loaded our locker a few months ago, and looking for its use in the near future.

I wanted to relate a quick experience where i see the lockers would do much good.

My wife and i went to see the mouse in August. When opening our luggage, we found all of our belongings covered with suntan lotion, sunblock, and other liquids. We had all of these items in gallon sized ziplocked bags, and they were sealed tight. We also found our prescription bottles open and some of our pills mixed in with the suntan lotion. To top it off, we had a calling card from the TSA saying they inspected our bags. Needless to say we were not happy.

Now, having a OL, all of our lotions are tucked away safely, and we'll actually have clean clothes when we open our luggage whether TSA inspects us or not! We know that when we get our OL, all things will be in great condition, and that our belongings have been handled with care and respect!
Thank You!"
